Finally got the transcript - Cafferty on Ferraro:
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 03:23 PM by FLDem5
I heard the exchange yesterday, and wanted to post it - I know its late to the party, but here you go:

CAFFERTY: This is a comment that's beneath contempt from a woman who should have known better. She owes Barack Obama an apology. She used to have more class than that. I've known Geraldine Ferraro for 25 years and she didn't used to conduct herself this way.

It's despicable. And, no, I don't buy any explanation. It was wrong. And Hillary Clinton's campaign should say thank you, but we no longer require your help, your support, please don't raise more money for us, just go away.

10. umm "she didn't used to conduct herself that way?" What a laugh!
From NEXIS: The Associated Press April 14, 1988, Thursday, AM cycle Ferraro: Jackson Won't Be Democratic Nominee LENGTH: 192 words DATELINE: AMHERST, N.Y. Former Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro says Jesse Jackson won't be the party's presidential nominee and wouldn't be in the race if he were white. Speaking Wednesday at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Ferraro credited Jackson for "grabbing the imagination of the public" and said he is "telling people the things we want to hear, but he won't be able to deliver what he is promising."

5. dammit, i'm liking that crusty old curmudgeon more and more each
day. Go get 'em Jack. Her only refuge now is the Fox News Channel. Does the cozy relationship of the Clinton campaign with FNC make anyone else feel kinda sick? :puke:

25. actually, I was listening to O'Reiley today
and he said he thought she was wrong, but not racist.

However, he defended her "right to say" those things, whatever that means.

And thank you Jack Cafferty..and this is on cnn..ol hilary's water carrying station.

Jack says gerry owes Obama an apology and gerry says Obama should be thanking her..

I think gerry was given her orders from the top to keep this up until the PA Primary.

22. TPMtv presents Ferraro greatest hits

TPMtv: Send in The Clown

Gerry Ferraro is catching a lot of flak these days. But here at TPM we want to thank her. It's been an exhausting primary season. And we've needed some comic relief in a big way. Saying Barack Obama was lucky to be black may only have been one more 'unfortunate' statement in a string of beauts this election cycle. But going on every show currently on the air to express her outrage at the response to her comments has simply been comedy gold. Check out some of the best moments in today's episode of TPMtv ...

26. I just watched that.
I'm truthfully embarrassed for her.

It's her reputation that is taking the hit rather than the campaign (and the candidate!) who put her up to what she did. I wonder if she realizes she got played? Probably not.

29. Why can't.....
the superdelegates commit and put an end to this slow bleed of the Democratic party?

I'm beginning to think they are as much at fault as anyone. Commit, lets get a nominee and move-on.

If it's within the by-laws whats the friggin holdup! Everyday this drags out is a whole new round of insults, non-apologies and more damage to the party to overcome in November!!!!

It's almost as if their is some joy in holding the suspence card? How much fun is 4 years of McCain folks?

Sorry, I had to vent that. I don't know what the rules or protocol are for the superdelegate commitments.

I don't see any sense of sitting on them just for the fun of it. All they are doing is slowly feeding the bottom dwelling media hypsters.

put it out of reach, so we can move on from this mess.

32. I think it may.....
have something to do with inclusion in the process? Like voting is something really fun and entertaining to do? You stand in line 45 minutes in the cold, check in, then go stand in a contraption pull a curtain behind you and snatch levers? Whooooop eee'.

I vote so I my candidate won't loose. If they can win without my ass standing in the cold, thats fine by me. If my candidate wins I won't be blubbering cause he/she won before I got the distinguished honor of standing in a cold line with blue heads. Shit!

If my candidate wins...Exclude me anytime!
