1. I'd rather be black than a president's spouse, because obviously nothing's tougher than that!
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 09:51 PM by TheZug
Why, that's akin to being a slave or a sharecropper!

6. I love snark based on a deep ignorance of the circumstances being satirized
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 09:55 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Nobody ever said black men have an intrinsic advantage in American politics.

What's with Obama supporters' habit of creating a false "Group reality" and then carrying on about it, ad nauseum?

Enjoy your lame-brained fun...

7. I am black....
I get what you are saying, but I'd rather not see a bunch of posts from white folks happy that they aren't me. Really, I'm happy I'm black....it's not a curse.

8. Not my intention
I apologize if I offended. Just a bit of snark on some of the comments I've been reading here this evening. If it was in poor taste, my fault.

9. Sorry, I'm guilty too.
I was researching and posting another thread probably while you were writing this.

Hope I wasn't offensive.

it opened my white eyes as a teen in the 60's....

Editted to Add:For those who don't know the book, it is written by a white man who takes a skin darkening medication and then travels through the the southern united states as a black.

15. I'm black, and I get what the OP is saying

Chris Rock spoke to exactly this point once (forgive me if it's not verbatim, but it's very close): "Not one of you white people would trade places with my black ass. And I'm RICH!" The theme of that riff was 'That's how good it is to be white.'

Not everyone may feel that way, but I certainly believe the sentiment exists, for what it's worth.

Obama's LUCKY? Geraldine Ferraro can kiss mine.

And I wouldn't trade my color for anything. I like me as I am :).
