Please improve my day
As I drive in this morning I'm hearing that Air America is getting pulled for bouncing checks and Limbaugh (I had the right wing radio on in the morning because the local host isn't too bad) tells me that an AFL-CIO focus group has union voters liking Bush better than Kerry. Depression sets in. Can someone debunk this crap for me?

3. here is some info from the majority report blog

"As you know if you live in LA or Chicago AAR is down in those locales. There's not a lot of info about what's going on right now but I'll let you know what I know.

AAR has leased air time on WNTD (CHI) and KBLA (LA) from a radio holding company that owns both stations. I'm not privy to the details as I'm not management and our legal counsel is not in house so I can't eavesdrop on them. With that said, there is some type of contractual dispute regarding the LA station. The holding company seems to be using the Chicago station as leverage regarding the LA station. I know that AAR is seeking an injunction against the holding company's taking AAR off the air. There seems to be a lot of optimism that we will get that injunction. From the little I know of legal matters, that is an indication that, at the very least, our legal counsel feels that we are in the right in this dispute and that a judge will feel that way too. I suspect that the holding company hopes that our desire to be on air will overpower any sense that we are getting screwed contractually.

On line there are some rumors about right wing elements pressuring the holding company to pull us off the air. As much as I'd like to, I don't buy it. I think this is probably a typical hardball business scenario that is indicative of AAR's unexpected success and somebody who was betting against that success trying to renegotiate."

i am sure there is more detailed info somewhere.

the head guy of AAR was on the air speaking about it yesterday, he was very confident that AAR was in the right and the owner of the stations was in the wrong. He felt legally they had a very strong case.

5. I can debunk a little
There's a huge thread about AA, so I won't wade into that.

However, I can cheer you up a little about the AFL-CIO. Ohio is having it's post-primary caucus tonight and I'm the caucus chair for my congressional district. I just received a call letting me know that the Ohio AFL-CIO President will be attending and they're bringing bus loads of members. I can't speak for every chapter, but it certainly appears that the Ohio AFL-CIO is definitely going to pull out all the stops for Kerry. There is a site affiliated with the AFL-CIO dedicated to taking back the White House. http://www.takebackohio.org/

My view might be skewed because Ohio is such a disaster right now, but every union member I know is driven to beating Bush. I'm not trusting Rush without a ton of proof.
