David Gregory To Anchor 6pm Show on MSNBC
First on TVNewser: NBC News chief White House correspondent David Gregory is being tapped to anchor a new MSNBC program called Race for the White House. Gregory will take over the 6pmET time slot from Tucker Carlson who remains with the network as MSNBC's Senior Campaign Correspondent, reporting for all MSNBC shows.

Gregory, who will continue reporting on the Bush White House and filling in for Matt Lauer on the Today show, will anchor the MSNBC program from NBC's Washington Bureau.

Other changes:
• NBC's Andrea Mitchell becomes the anchor of MSNBC's 1pmET program...

• Live with Dan Abrams re-launches as Verdict with Dan Abrams...

• Countdown with Keith Olbermann will now re-air at 10pmET (it had been re-airing at MidnightET)...

• The Doc Block moves back and adds a third hour. It will now air from 11pmET-2amET...

• Countdown gets a second re-air at 2amET...

26. Wrong - have you forgotten some of the earlier post debate shows.
He is in the same Welch/GE circle jerk as Tweety, Brian, and Tim. The only difference is that I am not sure he is northeast Irish catholic Reagan Dem.

7. Yes, I wanted Rachel Maddow too. She would make a great show, she has
so much information to share. And she speaks so well.

9. What a disappointment
Her radio show is expanding from 6-9 - so her Olberman bookings will probably drop, and by the title it sounds like Abrams show might becoming less political, so we may acutally be seeing a lot less of her.

11. I've seen him dancing with Karl Rove on TV. What the hell was that?
There was a time when he asked hard questions of Bush, but ever since the dance with Rove, he looks like a republican to me.

27. Kind of. They were at a dinner and the Entertainers went to the NBC table...
and chose him to volunteer in their little skit. In that situation its kind of hard to say no. So he went up there and they told him to dance.

19. What a letdown
These guys who pretend to be impartial and unbiased are not worth watching, because they sound idiotic trying to be fair and balanced, or whatever they feel like they should be so they can also serve as a "journalist" in their day job. They are scared to have it revealed they have a POV.

I like that Matthews and Olbermann just say what they think. I don't have to agree with everything they say, but at least it's more entertaining than this will be.

Too bad it wasn't Maddow or Stephanie Miller or someone else like that.

24. I don't know
I like both Stephanie Miller and Maddow. But I watched Steph on TV the few days she filled in for the recently fired Imus. I was not inpressed at all with her on TV. Radio and TV are two much different beasts.

As for Maddow...I feel the opposite. I think her show, although informative, is boring. It does nothing for me. But if I hear she is going to be on a show I make an appointment to tune-in. She's a great political analyst and has a great TV persona. I think she'd make a great TV host.

30. thats what I was thinking...
And with Campbell Brown moving to CNN's 8pm slot, its bad news for democrats. I remember her ripping John Kerry nearly every chance she got in 2004. I expect her to do the same of the dem nominee this year. Although I think Gregory is more fair than Campbell, we'll see.

33. Obama doesn't fair well under David's professional scrutiny
In this clip ...
Obama mistakenly refers to David as "Matt"
When David asks Obama about not winning any of the big states, Obama starts off by asserting hew won Michigan (lol)

38. Good
Somehow I ended up on MSNBC's VIP news panel. All they do is send me surveys and ask for opinions on anchors and reporters and I tell them what I think. I am glad to say that maybe all of the complaints about Tucker paid off. My comments about Mitchell obviously didn't makes a rat's patootie difference.

I like Rachel and hope she will get her own show one day. She would be a great replacement for Tweety. I also like Shuster and I think he has learned not to use slang while reporting. I don't see them getting rid of Tweety any time soon. With all of the complaints about him he should have been gone a long time ago. I don't see Joe enough. I did let them know about his pole dancing comments. I don't care if it was a repuke he made the comments about-it's not appropriate.
