but weight is certainly a factor. I was told when I was running (tiny municipal election) that I needed to keep my weight down because people tend not to want to vote for heavy women. I'm not heavy, actually, a size 4 or 6 petite. But this put the fear of food in my mind.

Hillary is NOT fat. She looks very good. If she were 50 pounds heavier the OP would have a point. But she is not. She looks healthy.

Years ago, I wish I could remember the publication, I read an article about politicians and which characteristics were more appealing to voters. Apparently a study or focus group showed that voters preferred women candidates who were about size 12 to 14 the best. That looks like about what Hillary is. Also, they preferred motherly type women to young hotties. Conversely, tall dashing handsome fellows fared better than their shorter, balder brethren. I don't remember what their analysis of those findings were but I just remember that part of it.
