Hillary Clinton: Playing the victim for 16 years
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 11:24 AM by cali
Oh, she's accomplished at it alright, but doesn't it kind of blur the strong, tough image she's trying to project?

One of the things I've disliked most about Clinton in this campaign is her willingness to play the victim card at every turn. Everything is just so unfair to poor Hill. Caucuses are unfair. The demographics of this state or that is unfair. *The media is unfair. Obama is unfair. Debates are unfair. Florida and Michigan delegates not being seated is unfair. It's all just so unfair to Hillary. She's complained constantly about how mean Obama is while throwing much worse shit at him. He's kept the complaining to a minimum. Not Hill. It's always someone else's fault if she doesn't do as well as expected. It's so tiresome, the whining that comes out of her and her camp. And it's so unattractive paired with her negative campaign. I can so see her complaining about the right wing conspiracy if she's the nominee. That'll go over well.

She's made excuses and complained for the past two months about virtually everything in this race while arguing how tough and seasoned she is. Quite the contrast.

*Yes, yes the media has been biased against her. And part of that is HER fault.

she is- as her constant whining throughout the last two months of the primary season so amply illustrates.

Hillary is a political 9/11.

She provides an excuse to the Repos do the wrong thing.

I think calling Hillary a monster is beyond the pale, and I have no use for the sexism at all. I've never used the word "shrill" referring to her or denied that there's a lot of ugly sexism directed at her, just as there's racism directed at Obama. And we've seen that here as well.

For decades wealthy RW patrons have funded activities meant to destroy Hil and have failed.

They got Bill because he gave over to his lower urges *ahem*

But they never got Hil- and she has been hounded for decades.

>>RICHARD SCAIFE, 63, of Shadyside, Pennsylvania, is the great grandson of the founder of Gulf Oil, Richard Beatty Mellon. SCAIFE won't use middle name because he feels Mellon clan mistreated his parents and is long estranged from reclusive, liberal sister Cordelia SCAIFE May. SCAIFE is worth $870 million. During World War II, while Richard and Cordelia's father, Alan SCAIFE, served in Europe in the OSS, the forerunner to the CIA, the SCAIFE family lived in Washington. SCAIFE is a former alcoholic who was expelled from Yale after a drunken party. He ended up at the University of Pittsburgh, where is father was Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He shuns publicity.

Richard Mellon SCAIFE is, in effect, Kenneth Starr'S future boss in private life. Starr was given the position of first Dean of the School of Public Policy of Pepperdine University. This position was created with the help of a of a 1.1 million dollar gift from "life regent" Richard SCAIFE. SCAIFE gave Pepperdine 10 million dollars over the years. Starr had to postpone filling this seat, then had to decline it, but he knows the Gulf Oil Money is out there waiting for him.

A Clinton White House report stated that SCAIFE was the force behind the circulation of the story that Clinton White House aide Vincent Foster was murdered.<<

The way she constantly plays the victim doesn't inspire much confidence in her ability to lead. I am frankly stunned that she brought up the "I always have to answer first" thing at the debate. What was she hoping to accomplish by that? True or not, it just makes her look like she can't roll with the punches.

She's a fucking whiner, pure and simple. Underhanded and unattractive to most voters.

the less experienced, less honorable version of John McCain. If you want that, why not vote for the real thing?

24. Actually, He Has Run a Bottom Up Movement - And That's What We Need Later
People like to focus on his rhetorical skills, but take the grassroots organizing skills he learned in Chicago for granted. Somehow, people believe that the caucuses are magically won by Obama, and dismiss the fact that it takes alot of grassroots-level know-how to organize these things - something the top-down Clinton campaign forgot after becoming corporatized in the 90s.

These are skills that will be vital in driving up support for issues like health care and energy reform. There needs to be pressure put on Congress at the local level, not just in the hallowed halls of the Capitol building.

32. Hillary stands her ground and fights her corner.
I have a lot of respect for Hillary as a person and as a politician. She is very smart, hard-working and she really does care about America and the world.

Hillary loves debates because she can answer every question clearly and coherently, also responding to what other candidates say. Compared to Obama - who just sits there trying to recall key paragraphs from his pre-prepared stump speech.

Hillary wanted an extra debate in Wisconsin between Feb 5th and Feb 19th, but Obama refused because he prefers to hide behind his big speeches and massive waves of TV ads.

I am glad if Hillary thinks that "Florida and Michigan delegates not being seated is unfair" - because so do I, and so do most of the people who voted in those primaries! B-)

36. Actually, most people who voted in FL evidently
don't think that the delegates should be seated as is- according to polls. And Hillary does play the victim- constantly. Oh, and most people don't agree about Obama and debates. She's better than he is, but he improved dramatically over the season and debated her to a draw in the last three one on one debates.

FYI: Just in case anyone doesn't get it, that's a metaphor.

She reminds me of a little kid who kicks the crap out of her brother and then goes running to Mom crying.

Hillary: "Mom, mom Barack hit me! Waaaa!"

Mom: "Barack, what have I told you about hitting your sister? Boys aren't supposed to hit girls!"

Barack: "But Mom, I didn't touch her. SHE hit ME, and kicked me too. And I'm sure there was a little spitting involved."

Mom: "Now Barack, you know your sister is a lady and ladies don't spit."

Barack: "Okay, maybe she just drooled a little because she was kicking so hard."

Mom: "You owe your sister an apology."

Barack: Mumbles, "Oh brother."

Mom: "Barack Obama, did you just say you wished you had a brother instead of a sister. That is terrible! You know that is a sexist comment. You go to Hillary right now and apologize."

40. Great post, cali.
I'll add another contradiction to the strong, tough, independent-woman image she portrays. From the beginning, it's been obvious that by voting for her, you'll *really* be getting a twofer, as in vote for Hillary and you get Bill too. And now that Obama has given her a run for her money, she's pushing a threefer via the suggestion of a unity ticket. She did this yesterday when she was giving her stump speech. Now the message she's sending is essentially, vote for me and you get Bill and Barack too. It's maddening.

That the only reason she won her Senate seat in 2000 is because Bill misbehaved.

That the only reason she got re-elected in 2006 is because the people of NY are dumb.

47. You are so right on - Let's look at this.........
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 12:12 PM by 1776Forever
What if:

Obama had come out and made fun of her like she did him about the crying spell she put on - He could have said something like "Oh poor Hillary...It is so hard on her. Everyone is being mean to her. All the women take out your hankies and wipe those tears away and vote for Hillary!" Of course he has too much class to do that!

And how about:

Hillary has only made 1 speech in her life that qualifies HER to be the Commander in Chief. Take a look at this DU comment:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Or how about:

Obama goes on record and says that Hillary is not qualified to be the President BUT McCain is! She was only the 1st Lady and had no access or input into any high level decisions in all her time in the White House. Of course he did not say that, but what if he had and then all Hillary's supporters would be as pissed off as the Obama supporters are!

........

I think there is a lot of stuff out there on Hillary and Bill that will come out in the next few weeks and months and this will include an impending trial in CA for Paul v. Clinton - video and info at:

http://www.hillaryproject.com/index.php?/en/story-detai... /

This in no way says that Clinton is guilty BUT the trial is going to be coming up in Oct, 08!
