I too supported Edwards initially but changed after hearing attack after attack against Clinton.

I am the mother of a young, impressionable daughter. If I sat by and allowed those attacks to happen against a decent candidate without speaking out it would give my daughter the wrong message. It would tell her that it's ok to bash a woman because she's a woman. And I refuse to allow my daughter to believe that.

Like I said-I started out as an Edwards supporter. (As did a fellow coworker who is voting in his first-ever election. He became an American citizen last summer. After Edwards dropped he gave his support over to HRC.) Personally, I like Kucinich the most but he's a bit of a pipe dream so I went with someone a bit more "known". I never had a problem with HRC but she wasn't my favorite. I only went to her after I saw what was done to her time and again. After my daughter made comments about the things said about her I knew that I, as a woman and a mother, had to give my child a better example. She had to learn that women are more than capable of running offices and being leaders.

Part of our overall "problem" is that the democratic party set up the primary system the way they did.. republicans' winner-take-all set-up guarantees a nominee , in pretty quick order. By trying to "be fair", we created this dilemma..Normally, ONE candidate has an overwhelming money-advantage, and the rest fall away because they can no longer keep up...but this time around, we have two people who CAN vacuum up vast quantities of cash, and the delegate totals are not that far apart, so of course they remain neck-and-neck..and no one wants to lose..
