one thing I can't understand

Obama has done extremely well in mostly white (90% +) states. He also does very well in states with significant percentage of black voters.

But he doesn't do as well in between.

Any idea why ?

It's more of a generalized fatigue and anti-dynasty deal with Hill here in MT.

I don't think any Dems or even possibly-Dem-voting independents care one way or the other that she's the Senator from New York. But they just aren't thrilled to vote for her for President.

It's kind of like "She had her turn living in the White House. Let somebody else have a turn.

People don't get a lot of authenticity vibe from her.

11. The east sure seems different than the west

It's odd to me that the same counties go for Hillary that went for Bush, and yet her supporters claim it's Republicans that are getting Obama elected. Her rural voters seem to be the ones most likely to flip to McCain. And Obama takes the rural voters in the west, except CA where they went for Hillary too.

Very weird.
