Hillary looks very strong in Ohio...
And, she might take Texas...

And, we will be back to square one.

Obama claiming he has wider appeal, Hillary claiming she takes the key states.

They should unite, run on one ticket - half the party wants him - half wants her. Let her have the top spot, she
paid her political dues, and Obama is young enough to ascend to the Presidency in a few years.

I don't think they will. Neither candidate is uniting the party.

7. 2% I believe
Cuyahoga county not to be fully counted until 4:30 AM (Keith/MSNBC)

Look for Toledo and Cinci having higher numbers for Obama, as well. They have barely begun counting votes yet, either.

2. I don't buy the Clintonista "my states are better" stuff at all
This "big state" stuff is so divisive, but I guess that obviously seems to be part of their playbook.

9. Not their playbook, just how it is FL in 2000; OH in 2004
Please study election history/delegates/the electoral college/ a bit before attributing your biased accusations toward any of the candidates.

16. So why don't we just have FL and OH vote, and ignore everybody else?
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 10:56 PM by high density
That seems to be the argument, and the rest of us who not in the Clinton-identified "big states" are just chummy idiots in the way of Clinton getting her nomination.

18. 2000 and 2004 neither of the Clintons were in the primary or GE race

Point is, the way things are, is why the so-called 'big states' matter more ... I don't make the rules and if you don't like the way things work, work to change it. Don't just try to lay blame on someone who has nothing to do with the process, just because you don't agree and/or are supporting the other guy.

19. Oh, so only Clinton can win these states?
Kerry and Gore lost because they're not Clinton?

I'm very much fine with the way things work, by the way. I'd just like to know why Clinton supporters are endlessly pissing on states that don't vote for Clinton, and casting them off as if they don't matter for some reason.

12. Obama wins dems in states that are overwhelmingly repub every november
Hillary takes big states with lots of electoral votes that can go blue in the general election.

4. It's not gonna happen.
They don't appear to like each other. Obama certainly isn't going to give Hillary a top spot. And neither one is going to be much help to the other as a VP.

I don't know about that.

13. No, but the gap will be something she can close

Pennsylvania is the next big state, Hillary could very well take that & come up right next to him.

Obama needed to beat her in both Texas & in Ohio (especially Ohio, it is a very crucial November state). I think the Obama honeymoon period is over. I am not saying he won't win, I don't know what will happen.

I am just saying the coronation ceremony was a bit early.

Frankly, neither of these two are even strong choices for progressive dems. They are both corporatists.

17. I consider Wyoming and Mississippi states
I guess you and Hillary Inc don't think they matter.

So you think at the end of March, Hillary will have a delegate lead? Explain your math. Everything I have looked at indicates she could win every state from here on out by a 10% margin and she still won't beat Obama in the pledged delegates.

6. I am beginning to think that isn't a bad idea
I am starting to think that Howard Dean and some powerful democrats should get these two in a room and work out a ticket. It sounds a little offensive, like the "smoke filled room" solution, but that is what may save the party.

8. No square one.
Tomorrow morning she will be behind in popular vote, delegate count, states won, money raised and soon the SuperD count.

Eeking out a win or two in state that she lead by 20+ points two weeks ago, doe not take us back to square one.

10. Hillary needs to win every state from now until the end
with more than 62% of the vote in order to catch up in the delegate count.

A simple majority win does not equal momentum.
