2. Kerry is at his best when he takes questions townhall style.
His intelligent, forthright answers helped him win Iowa.

8. PLEASE gain weight Kerry!
When they shoot him from the side, he looks like a skeleton. No offense, but he really needs to gain some weight!

9. So-so performance so far.
Hey needs to answer questions quicker, but hes been pretty good so far. His possible censorship answer kept going and going and going. But, I liked his answer on music trends.

11. Choppy so far.
He's being a little shaky on censorship issues and his saying he was interested in rap just seemed ridiculous.

Later.

12. OK
I thought it was just me thinking it. Seems like every Dem candidate has tried to play the "I like rap music card" at one point or another.

15. He's doing great.
Does anyone have any MP3's of 'the Electras', his band from high school?

Quote:
'What attracts you to him as a candidate?'

'I think I would just vote for anyone who is not Bush.' Then slyly smiles and nods head.

Footage from the 1971 testimony is very effective.

Kerry needs to play bass with some famous band (more famous than Moby, sorry Moby) on Letterman or Conan. Outcast? REM?

16. Good clips of Kerry and good history of him
found out stuff I didn't know ie. the reason he got the silver star.

His answers are good, not excellent. He does need to shorten his responses for Gen Ys .5 sec attention span. But he's doing good, looks more rough than usual for an interview.

21. Kerry didnt answer any questions
he danced around without stating what he believes in.
Critizing Bush is great but it is worthless without defining what he WILL do.

23. He said it in a very low key way and you know he means most people are
but some believe it or not, a very SMALL few, choose to be gay. It's impossible to tell if someone is, or isn't but I've known people who've bepopped. Doesn't mean that they choose but no one can really prove it.

He is the Democratic candidate for president, and he just said "some people choose to be gay." I refer to something I heard once, I think it was a comedian, but still - "why on Earth would anyone CHOOSE to be gay? 'Oh, unbridled hatred, ignorance, and (male genitalia) up my ass for the rest of my life - SIGN ME UP!' "

Later.

26. I didn't see the piece
But Kerry has said earlier, unambigiously, that people are born gay. Moreover, he has supported gay rights from the beginning, well before it was commonplace to do so. My guess is that he either misspoke or you misinterpreted what he was trying to say. Either way, he's no homophobe.

27. And he said...
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 11:17 PM by robsul82
...it here, and added in...*let's rewind*...hmmm. "Oh, you're born who you are, people are born gay, well, some people choose to be, but I think it's birth." Did I misinterpret that, or...?

And on second thought, this party friggin' crucified Howard Dean on his "misspeaking," but I can Goddamned assure you that Dean would never "misspeak" his way into "Some people choose to be gay."

Later.

29. Definetly blown out of proportion
He was saying that some people do, very low key. It's something it would be impossible to prove or disprove. Kerry is no homophobe.

25. He die reasonably well
But as someone mentioned he danced around important issues like gay marriage etc.

Many younger people favor gay marriage, while most older people don't.

28. This gay marriage stuff is stupid
Talk about the real issues. he spent a godd part of that interview doing exactly what Chimpy wants. Put the focus on things like Gay marriage and off of his record as president

A man really needs to know himself and be secure with himself to ware a pink tie. That shows his character i think. Someday that tie will be in a museum. I LOVE THE TIE, JK!!!!
