| Has Clinton apologized to Cindy Sheehan for sending Casey to his death? | |
 |
I'm just wondering. Because she has never expressed regret for her vote and she still thinks she would do the same thing today.
She voted to go to war. With Iraq. For no good reason. And she gave Bush all the power he needed. This wasn't about diplomacy. It was about oil and the slaughter of millions to disrupt the supply and trade of oil in the middle east. All so the oil companies could rake in billions of dollars of profit and all so defense contractors like Haliburton and Blackwater could raid the treasury for nearly 2 trillion dollars in taxpayer money.
Has Clinton apologized or expressed regret? Has she?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/02/ftn/main38974... “D-Day is Tuesday," he told Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer. "Whoever has the most delegates after Tuesday should be the nominee."
Richardson deferred from announcing a personal endorsement of either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama (“I’m legitimately torn," between the two, he said), but suggested that the leader after this week's primaries will have the presumptive title.
He also called for a positive Democratic race rather than one marred by negative ads or name-calling. “We have to have a positive campaign after Tuesday," Richardson said. The party big wigs might be ready to step in on Wednesday to advise that Hillary bow out gracefully. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

In 04 he said he stood by his vote but would do things different then Bush. So, you voted for him. He apologized in 06 when it didn't matter. I suppose it was ok for Kerry's vote and got a pass where as with Hillary she doesn't get a pass and I think the fact Hillary is female makes a difference in peoples voting. I mean, why did people vote for Kerry over Dean? I guess his IWR vote didn't matter but all the sudden it matters with Hillary, what hypocrisy and sexism.

Kerry couldn't debate the war with Bush effectively, after all, he had AUTHORIZED IT!
There were MANY democrats who voted for Kerry because he was the democrat, not because we agreed with his IWR vote.
Given the CHOICE between a person who AUTHORIZED the Iraq war, and one who CLEARLY spoke out AGAINST the invasion, I'll pick the one who KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.
Thank you very much!

his case - not that it hasn't been made repeatedly already. Why did it take Hillary as long as it did to admit she'd made a mistake? My thought: she was trying to straddle the fence, to cover all her bases, as a practical matter. It must have been clear to her some time ago that she'd been wrong, but an apology... that would be taking a stand which could hurt her politically (I imagine her thinking). It does make me question her judgement, not because of her initial vote, but because of her unwillingness to acknowledge the error YEARS after it was made. Either she didn't grasp how badly she'd erred, or she thought strategically it would be the right thing to stick to her guns. Either way, it has been a mistake, and it may well have cost her the presidency.
edited for typo; there may be more!

for Clinton on. They just can't see how wrong she is. This is the only way to get them to face it.
Yes. It hurts. I know. But it hurts so much more for those of us who have been right about standing against the War from the beginning.

IWR 2002, cluster bombs 2006, Kyl-Lieberman 2007, a Nov/Dec 2007 article in "Foreign Affairs" chock full of neocon red meat. It's not a little thing.

It does not seem likely, right now, that HRC will be President 44. What are you left with then? What is the usefulness of posting such low blows?

Remember that photo of the activist confronting Condi Rice with "blood" on her hands? Remember how we all cheered that action confronting her. Well, the Senate played a role and each Senator who voted "Yes" must confront the truth that they too bear responsibility for the bloodshed. They are all responsible and we must hold them all accountable -- including Democrats. As a Senator, there is no other duty of the office more sacred and somber than to decide whether to take this nation to war. They must own up to the consequences of that decision and the consequence is blood. I'm sorry if some people in this thread don't like being reminded of that. The men, women and children who actually have to pay the human price for that folly don't have that luxury of forgetting.
At least you get to tell your sons and daughters "Goodnight" tonight.
