Why all the hate?
I don't think either democratic Senators are ideal, and I won't forget those immortal words, "if I knew then what I knew now". Clinton is not stupid. So how did she and the other Senators support war authorization when my friends and associates knew it was a lie? Was she too close to lies to see it for what is was.

Clinton supporters accuse Obama supporters of hate. All I have seen today is hate from Clinton supporters against Obama. Would you really hate him if Clinton wasn't running. If so, fine.

But ask yourselves this; would either democrat be better than McCain or Bush.

PS. If you think Obama is just like Bush, you haven't been listening to his speeches or reading about his background and experience.

6. because there is a lot at stake
and there are folks on this forum who have genuine concerns about backing someone who hasn't been properly vetted... and despite that lack of vetting, seems to have some nasty skeletons in his closet. (Rezko, Wright...etc)

There are folks on this forum who are desperate for a Democratic president and they believe that the candidate that they believe is best placed to actually win office is being taken out from the left with Rovian tactics.

There are folks on this forum that cannot get over the blatant sexism on this board that is hurled at Hillary and her female supporters.

There are folks on this forum who are GBLT and know all about the "ex-gay" movement and know how dangerous it is.

There are folks on this forum who believe that Hillary was swiftboated in her own party (something that she could never have prepared for) in both SC and with the "Harry and Louise" mailers.

There are folks on this forum who are taken aback by the blind support that this man is receiving given that he has relatively little political experience, particularly on the national stage.

And finally, there are folks on this forum who remember 2000 and 2004 and don't want to go through it again with another "aisle crossing moderate" who can "learn on the job".

Do you understand now why folks aren't "getting along"?

11. About this "learn on the job" thing.
What experience, exactly, are you claiming that Hillary has that makes her ready to lead on day one? She would love for everyone to believe she's experienced and ready to lead, but the fact is - she has no presidential experience, and if you are arguing that her time in the White House was experience, then you'd have to also agree that my wife spending years in the Education system qualifies me to be a teacher. With respect to legislative experience, Obama has MORE legislative experience than she does. So, where's the beef?

Again - there are folks on this forum with lots of concerns for the future of this presidential race... and for the party itself.

37. Yeah..
... well compared to HRC's YES to IWR, YES to PATRIOT, YES to Kyl-Lieberman, and YES to plenty more, I much prefer the "present" if you don't mind.

In other words, better the possibly good than the demonstrably bad. Get it?

24. as opposed to someone who
Has been vetted, then still gets caught by crooks like Hsu and the whole turkish connection.

Some, a few, people hurl sexism others hurl insults sourced from one particular campaign - including "cult" and "Rezko"

There are folks on this forum who are in GLBT and support Obama; more still in the GL liberation movement more outside this forum support him.

Hillary was not "swiftboated" by anyone, her troubles are of her own making eg not being in charge of her own campaign.

People are also taken aback by the blind support shown to a supposedly experienced candidate who has failed to show one ounce of initiative or foresight.

And finally the real reason for the hate - FEAR, fear of not winning, fear of the new, fear of change.

Many of the haters refuse to see that Hillary means more Democratic Leadership Convention, more ignoring states that don't matter, more executive branch members chosen for loyalty to the President rather than the people, more triangulation, more microtrend analysis, more division. They cannot comprehend that her campaign is dull, pedantic, negative and ultimately weak.

will post this in fuller form as a Journal piece

27. I didn't ask y'all to get along
I didn't ask, "why don't you all agree"

I understand that there are jerks on line. Does that mean you should hate everyone who disagrees with you? I hope not. I honestly disagree and don't fit your profile. I would love a capable women in the White House. I wish Janet Napolitano was running, for example. However, because some jerks like Obama, and Clinton is a woman; I hope people are supporting her for ONLY these reason.

I asked, "why all the hate" by the way. Again, why hate those that just honestly disagree?

These are fundamental matters that are being discussed here. It's not simply a matter of disagreeing.

There are serious concerns being expressed by members of this forum - the few who remain after day after day of vitriol that is spewed at them...

There are a myriad of reasons.

Planted shills
Too heavily vested in their candidate after 7 longgggg years.
Closet bigotry -- racism and sexism
Limited selection of progressive candidates... lending increased frustration
Fear of having the election stolen again by the repukes -- needing an overwhelming majority to counter

48. what i don't hear. has anyone noticed how quiet it is overall on DU?
looks like they've finally shouted down all opposition to obama. looks like they are the last one's standing. seeing all this strife, hearing all this vitriol, makes me feel that this rift is so wide and the cuts are so deep that they will not be able to heal the party (or DU) once this is all over. most of the edwards people have left for other more receptive venues, so have most of the kucinich people. and i think the clinton people have found another area not so overrun with freepers. one by one the groups seem to be exiting. does anyone here think this has happened to DU by design? i think this board has been infiltrated by freepers, and they have destroyed it. look around. there's trash everywhere, spilled soda bottles, and all i hear is the repetitive sound of white noise coming from a tv that no longer has any reception and crickets. MSM and the freepers have killed this place dead.
