I need pictures of former primary candidates with John Kerry.

I created a bunch of Kerry for president avatars, including avatars of John Kerry with Dean and Edwards. I didn't do any of the other candidates, because I couldn't find any usable pictures. The new Kerry avatars are here.

EarlG told me I was making a mistake to add the pictures of Kerry with Dean and Edwards. He said we'd be accused of bias against the other candidates who didn't get avatars. Of course, he was right.

I still can't find any usable pictures of Kerry with any of the other primary candidates, and so far nobody has provided us with any usable ones. I don't want to have to clip two pictures together. I would rather use photos where Kerry is actually in the same picture with the other candidate.

I'm hoping you guys can help me out here and post some that we can use. Thanks.

It's my fave of the bunch, and I didn't even support CMB. And I don't use avatars or sig lines.

It looks to me like genuine warmth ... a characteristic for which Kerry is not noted ... and mutual warmth at that.

the avatar pics of kerry with dean, edwards, and graham are all pictures where kerry has his arm around them. so the braun picture isn't really unusual if you look at those also.

There's a reason the press publishes affectionat hugs pictures with the one woman candidate out of proportion.

It's the equivalent of, say, patting a child on the head. It's a way to not take CMB seriously.

Look at that smile on Mosley-Braun's face. That ain't fake as far as I can tell.

As for the hug/no-hug ratio, if Kerry is a typically reserved Yankee Brahmin (he is), the photo ratio is probably about right. I bet you Kerry DID hug Mosley-Braun a lot more than he hugged the other guys.

Maybe there's a pic somewhere of him kissing her hand. Or the old handshake-sandwich (shake hands w/ a lady, turn the wrist slightly so your right hand's on the bottom, then put your left hand on the top).

Men don't cry and men don't hug other men except in very extraordinary circumstances!!!

My life had been saved. If these two guys hadn't shown the love and spark and commitment they did, I don't know how I could have pulled out of the river I was crying. This meant everything to me, it truly did. I can never thank Wes Clark and John Kerry for being the big men they showed themselves to be that day in Milwaukee.

I put Wes's name first out of habit, but it was the pair of them. If Kerry hadn't shown the grace and respect to Clark he did show, it could never have worked with this tough Clarkie. They just left no room for cynicism and that was the beauty of it.

is one of the absolute best of Kerry and Clark. I have already seen it used as a custom avatar and it looked really good.

I strongly urge you to add that as one of your avatars. The one you have now is nice, but this one has the fronts of their faces in view.

Since you already have 2 of Kerry and Dean, I don't think it would kill anything to have 2 of Kerry and Clark.:)

there are some pictures where you know they are posing and smiling for the cameras, and many of them are very nice. but this one seems like it was taken while they were just looking around and kerry probably said something to clark. it was like a small "personal" moment.

Right click on the picture, choose "save as" (remember what name you give it, and the folder you saved it in), then go to "edit your profile" in the options menu. Click on the "upload" link in the "Avatar Image" section, click on the "choose" button and find the picture you just saved. Double click it, click the "jpg" option, then click the "upload file" button.

Alternatively, you could wait a day or so to see if DU (Skinner, probably) adds it to the "official" collection.
