Throwing Everything Including the Kitchen Sink

Talking Points Memo reports "Clinton Launches 'Kitchen Sink' Attack"
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/

Wow ... how wise is that?

If she's going to get that mean and go for broke hardcore, will she have anything left to run for reelection to the Senate?

I guess if you're down and out in the 4th quarter and it's the 2 minute warning, you go all out. In hockey you go as far as pulling your goaley. Like hockey, I think the Hillary campaign faces the same kind of humiliation a team faces w/ the gamble of pulling its goaley ... it gives them more firepower, but the net is left wide open.

Even with the increased firepower, I think her open net is going to get hit. She won't just lose, but she'll lose worse than if she just tried to win without the desperation tactic.

Throwing the sink might just SINK not only her White House bid, but also any hopes of holding onto her Senate seat.

Jonathan Tasini might just have a shot at her seat in 2012.

I'm curious what form the KITCHEN SINK will come in?

1. The Clintons seem determined to destroy...
...whatever respect they've garnered over the years ~ they are exemplifying the kind of politics this country despises and can't wait to leave behind.

2. so stupid.
telegraphing your intent to the opposition. And I imagine she'll go heavy on the "he's unprepared and we live in dangerous times theme". she'll compare him to bush and accuse him of being rovian in his attacks on her.

The fun thing is that most of the hillies think she's been gentle with him and hasn't attacked him at all. they are delusional.

4. This is what Hillary's poor campaign planning has led to.
A mad scramble, desperation bid to hold on. She gambled that her cloak of inevitability and a frontal assault were get her the nomination on Super Tuesday, and didn't plan that anybody would be left standing. When somebody was, who was pulling in delegates and swimming in cash, she simply didn't have any sort of planned cohesive answer. So now she is reduced to throwing anything and everything, hoping against hope that something works, that something sticks.

She's got to win either Texas or Ohio next week. If she doesn't, her odds are beyond long, they're damn near impossible. I hope that in such a case she'll have the intelligence and grace to withdraw her candidacy, otherwise she could very well rip the party apart.

6. I wonder just how low she can drive her own negatives down in her quest to destroy Barack.
The abject incompetence of her campaign is pretty breathtaking as she successfully puts the last nail in her own coffin of future viability.

9. wrong sports analogies

It's not 4th down and late in the 4th quarter, lets throw a "hail mary" to the end zone.

It's a chess match.

and it's 4 forced moves to check mate.

Time to topple the king and resign.

10. Reminds me of ...
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 01:34 PM by Khaotic
The Looney Tunes episode when Elmer's quest to take out a house fly ends in destroying his house.

In this case, the house is OUR Democratic House.

What a disaster.

I have to wonder now if she'll get out even if she loses both TX and OH.

She is really bitter.
