Predictions On Tonight's Debate
First of all, there's no way Russert & Williams are not going to bring up Hillary's "emotional" press conference Saturday or her "mocking" speech yesterday, especially after her tone at the end of last week's debate. The SNL parody of the "feigning" press coverage is sure to come up as well. She will be questioned about her support of NAFTA and the "co-presdency" claim of her "experience".

Obama's camp sent an email to the press this morning saying they are going to be "agressive" with her tonight.

So my question is, since this will be the last primary debate for sure, do you think there will the kind of fireworks the M$M is hoping for tonight?

2. Gosh--I sure hope Obama doesn't go "confrontational".
His campaign has been very uplifting. He answers false charges when they are leveled but, in my opinion, he hasn't started any fights. I sure hope he keeps true to himself tonight. No "silly season" please!

I support him because he is so uplifting and positive. He shows us politics doesn't have to be dirty.

8. preach
I just hope he doesn't preach at us; reminds me of Bush's cowboy routine.

3. I hope they can create some distance between themselves policywise
because they are almost clones in that regard and I am tired of health care being the only thing they debate.

4. I Really Don't Think The M$M Is That Concerned With Policy Differences...
They are hoping for some kind of "big" headline, like a meltdown.

5. Hmmm.... I hope they get it!
It will certainly get more airplay than a civil union would.

6. It all depends on which Hillary performs tongiht, if it's the same Hillary that was ....
then this election is over. The fact is, Hillary can stab him in the back by releasing press releases and sending off e-mails, but she lacks the courage of her convictions to stand up on stage and attack her opponent face to face.

9. They're going to ask Hillary if Obama is ready to be Commander in Chief again...
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 12:35 PM by malik flavors
and this time she'll say no, flat out. And Obama will have to turn the argument around on her again. She'll never get away from voting to authorize the Iraq war. She can't say that she'll be an improvement from the Bush foreign policy when she voted for the worst decision in the Bush foreign policy. She also voted for the Iranian military guard to be considered a terrorist organization. The fact is, she's been closer to Bush on foreign policy than Obama has been.

Other than that, they'll probably ask Obama to clarify his position on whether or not he's pro-palestinian or pro-isreal. Tim Russert will grill both candidates and pull out quotes from years ago that contradict their current positions. Hillary seems to sweat a bit when they play "gotcha" with her. She even said once "this is where everyone starts to play gotcha" in a previous debate and on Meet the press, Tim caught her in a fib once and she was like "OK Tim, you're very good at this and I respect your ablities." I've seen her with the "deer in headlights" look before when confronted by Tim Russert. I guess we'll see if that happens again tonight or not.

10. Are they going to be standing or sitting?
The two one on one debates have been sitting, I think they need to be standing now.

11. If Sen. Clinton does not drop out after March 4, you can be
sure she will press for at least one more debate before the April 22 PA primary.

As far as what will happen tonight. I think Sen. Clinton will go on the attack and Sen. Obama will deflect her criticisms. He seems pretty even tempered. I don't think she will rattle him. Remember what happened with the Xerox comment at the last debate?

It isn't flattering for either candidate to pick school yard fights on national TV, imo.

so you can forget that notion. She is in it, to win it...Obama is riding off a bumper sticker campaign, wait until the rethug hate machine begins to tear im apart. Is he ready? No.

18. Here is the problem with continuing to think it will be
politics as usual. Can't you see that Obama is running a campaign different from the campaigns of old?? He is standing up to Bill and Hillary Clinton and their attempt to smear him. Mocking his successful campaign is childish.

People are sick of the old ways, including the rethug hate machine.

I don't think she has it in her.
