Obama's grassroots campaign chipping at Clinton's party establishment base in Ohio
This is just one story in an article about Obama's grassroots success in Cleveland.

Obama's Ohio Grassroots Advantage

-snip

But at least on Cleveland's east side, Obama's surging grassroots success has stolen Clinton's establishment base right out from under her. Cleveland City Councilman Kevin Conwell came out early for Clinton, winning a trip to the national convention to vote for her.

Then Conwell's constituents sat him down for a little chat. "I met with my residents and tried to get them to go with Hillary," Conwell says. "Not one of them would move. All of my volunteers, all my block club presidents, every last one of them was going for Barack."

Conwell was forced to relinquish his seat at the convention. He spent last Saturday canvassing his ward for Obama.

"Now that I've been with both campaigns, I see that Obama's has a lot more volunteers, and they're all grassroots people from the neighborhood," Conwell says. "I didn't think this movement would grow. I was wrong. It's strong."

5. "I was wrong. It's strong."
Conwell recognized the truth staring him in the face.

2. That was his plan from the beginning. He believed in it, stuck with
it and made other people believers. You just can't beat the face to face, door to door stuff.

6. You're right
And now that Obama has good union support, he should really benefit from door to door.

4. I saw his (Savannah) Georgia machine it was impressive. Hillary had one supporter who was working
running around town putting up signs. She was very dedicated, but had to do so much of the work all by herself. Obama had +/- 100 people everyday on the ground in the week leading up to Super Tuesday.

7. It fascinates me how smooth and seamless Obamas National Staff meshs w/ the local
groups. In every single State, they make it look so easy.
from article
~After Super Tuesday, as national staff for both campaigns descended on Ohio, Obama's state leaders began flexing the power of MyBO (my.barackobama.com) and the grassroots network it spawned. Across the state, Obama's 300 web-based groups started canvassing neighborhoods three days to a week before Clinton's campaign, supporters on both sides say.

8. That was a lesson from the Kerry campaign if you must know
Dissecting the loss in '04 we all noticed that the Kerry people came in and put their own people in charge, ignoring the locals and the established ground game. They didn't trust anyone from outside their circle to be effective, and they communicated that message loud and clear.

Now, those same folks, most of them, went to work for Hillary, and her ground game suffered for this attitude. Hubris and arrogance.

10. The only question now is Dark Toast or Light Toast?
I believe she just lost the Senate Majority Leader job to Chris Dodd this morning.

By tomorrow, she will be looking at a primary challenger in 2012.

She's lucky there is no recall for US Senator.

12. I don' t think so.
the fact is , he didnt gain as much in the polls over the last week as everybody would except after 11 wins in a row and that great Wisconsin win. In fact he hasn't gained anything in Ohio.
I still think Hillary will win both Ohio and Texas . Barack just has to keep it close (within 10 point)
