opponent, Senator Barack Obama, without hurting herself."

Sunday, Feb 24th NY Times, Week In Review, page 2 top, 3rd column under "Who's In Charge?" (The other catagories are Cuba, Pakistan, Kosovo, and Society Generale.) Each one has a photo, and short paragraph called "The News," and another called "Behind The News."

“The Democratic race is headed toward what could be Mrs. Clinton’s last stands, Ohio and Texas on march 4, following a string of victories by Mr. Obama. Some aides argued that she should go on the attack and draw sharper contrasts with him. Others worried she would alienate more voters than she would win over. In a debate last Thursday, whe was both congenial and aggressive before offering an emotional closing. “I am honored to be here with Barack Obama,” she said.

21. The NYT has gone berzerk with Clinton Hit articles
Today's front page featured a political memo saying Barack Obama is in danger
of being assasinated, so he has to have lots of protection. The article didn't give
any evidence, but it stated that since Obama is following in the footsteps of
Kennedy and Martin Luthor King, that the danger is always there.
Of course there was no mention that Hillary Clinton gets death threats on a
regular basis.
It seems like Obama has a monopoly on assasination attempts that haven't happened.

This will go down as the dumbest front page afticle in the history of this paper.
Keller the editor has totally lost his marbles. Either that, or he's making money
on thd side.

23. Hi, Al2. Welcome to DU. I want you to know, we've never been at each other's throats
like this before. Careful where you step. Nerves are really raw today! It's the last episode of Survivor, White House, and someone's getting thrown off the island next week....

3. Either the NYT has forgotten how to edit...
or someone is deliberately misspelling Barack Obama's name.

4. SHE is in charge
I am so fed up with everybody pretending that her entire campaign is somebody else's fault. Nothing comes out of her mouth but that she doesn't think to open it and think to speak the words. This is Hillary, plain and simple.

6. Shhh... Hear that? (crickets...)
What? I'm not a troll? I'm not a republican?

No one's going to throw me out?

Could it be that Hillary brought all this upon herself? With cold, calculating political tactics?

And yet, she says, "Shame on you, Barack," for playing politics?

Comeon. Someone tell me it's my fault that her tactics were revealed right in the NYTimes. There's got to be some way to blame me for this.

8. "both congenial and aggressive" = schizophrenic
I wonder just how low she can drive down her own negatives down in her quest to destroy Obama.

9. My guess is that her hard tack to agressive
will turn off far more voters than she attracts. To people just tuning in- the ever important undecideds- she'll simply come off as angry and spiteful. Contrast that with Obama's measured responses and optimistic outlook and mien, and she's the loser. Men in particular, will flee from Clinton like she's poison.

10. Cali is right. This kind of behavior gets coverage and entertains supporters, but turns off voters
This is exactly the kind of conduct that really alienates middle voters who absolutely despise the nastiness Hillary's campaign has come to represent.

12. They ran it on NPR this morning. It's going to be the Howard Dean sound byte
if she's the nominee.

Even if Barack is, the GOP will use that clip. It's going to come back over and over again in her life. She played right into the GOP's hands.

13. True. It will be used by the GOP in their 527 attacks, and they'll have $250 mil or more
It won't work, but they'll use it. They'll use all the crap Hillary is throwing at the wall, hoping something sticks.

In the end, it won't work for the Pukes, either, but they will use it.

They held that back until now.

How good are you feeling about HRC, now?

19. "Another day, another line of attack." ABC News opener 2/24
She's displayed several attitudes toward him in 4 days. Then, they basically said, without saying it directly, that she leaked the photo. But that was the same method Bush used to sell WMD's and Iraq did 9/11: Use the same names in the same sentence of the same story, without actually coming right out and stating that the connection is real. They never really said she leaked the photo.

The last quote from his old friends in Illinios, was "Obama is certainly a liberal. You can like him and respect him without voting for him for president."

That's about par for ABC.

22. In four days she went through three different tactics.
First she was honored to be on the stage with Barack Obama. (I thought that sounded a little strange, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was trying to promote unity.)

Then two days later, her tone became outraged and angry and she called Obama out by name.

After that about face, the very next day she turned to mocking Obama (and his supporters by implication).

How many Hillary Clintons are there? As many as there are top advisers in her campaign? Good grief, they're jerking her around like a marionette.

The polls show Obama surging ahead, so apparently none of these desperate strategies have worked.

So now we have the photo of Obama in African garb. The Clinton camp disavows all knowledge of the photo, of course. And it may be true, but after all the crap she's hit Obama with in the past couple of days, is the public going to believe her? The candidate who called wolf.
