After Clinton, and eight years of centrist Democrats, a certain percentage of the left was willing to vote Nader instead of Democrat, probably 2 percent of the voters, the rest of Nader's supporters would not have voted anyway. Now, after eight years of Republican rule the centrist Democrats seem a hell of a lot better than the Republicans. I do not think that many people that would have voted Democrat will vote Nader this time around. He will get people that likely would not have voted Democrat or Republican as the Libertarians will also do. What is more important is that the Democratic party candidates compete with Nader for voters a bit on the left without loosing the center to McCain.
