Fellow Obama supporters: can we PLEASE refrain from gender-based insults when referring to Clinton?
It does NOT make us look good.
There are PLENTY of reasons to criticize the way that Clitnon has run her campaign lately, but we do NOT need to stoop to that level. I am sick of the patronizing and dismissive posts of some of the Hillary supporters on this forum, but there is NO reason us to dirty ourselves by behaving in a similar manner.
In the end, our goal will be to mend fences once it's all said and done, and I know I've had my face spit in more than a few times by some of the more aggressive Clinton supporters, but I'm still willing to look beyond that once the nomination process is settled.
If we expect the more reasonable supporters of Clinton to do the same, we need to be able to show that we actually want them on our side.
NASTY GENDER-BASED REMARKS ABOUT CLINTON, AS WELL AS PERSONAL ATTACKS, DO NOT SHOW THAT WE WANT THE FELLOWSHIP OF CLINTON SUPPORTERS.
This is NOT the kind of behavior Senator Obama would want to see from us.
Just a suggestion, if you REALLY feel the need to be that nasty and immature, go ahead. I, for one, think most of us are capable of better.
Just another plea for sanity that will doubtless go unheard by most...but hey, thought I'd try.

OK, fine, it's not sexist--but it's still classless and uncalled for, no matter how much you dislike her.

Guess you better ask Hillary to stop it first.

What can we do, she brings it upon herself:

I do not condone her behavior but it has nothing to do with her gender and it is upsetting to see gender-based insults thrown about.

18. I have never uttered a single sexist remark about her
and have posted defending Hillary against such unfair attacks when I see them (unless dealt with already).

I don't like her policies, her votes, or her hypocrisy (you all remember the mailer she sent out about OBama and women's reproductive rights?)

Of course, I've been accused many times here of being a misogynist, but I think that's more "heat of the moment" stuff. I do question why anyone should vote for her merely because because of her sex.

20. While I agree that the behavior is unpleasant,
it has been useful. It has brought home the truth that a very large segment of the Democratic party, especially those who support the current frontrunner, is just as sexist and homophobic as the Republican party. It's disappointing to be made aware of that, but it will certainly help progressive women and LGBT's decide where to place their political energies for the rest of the election year and beyond.

35. True, and I've taken pains not to do that. But notice...
that her irate followers are demanding more and more preferrential treatment of their candidate. Now Hillary wants Obama to stop making great speeches and drawing huge crowds. I suppose he is constrained to tame living room tea parties and one paragraph press releases.

What horsepoop. Senator Clinton, if you cannot compete in a real campaign fight, then WITHDRAW. It's that simple.
