| What does the Democratic party stand for |
|
and what do we want? I chose this party at 18 because my parents were Democrats and explained it to me this way: the Democrats are for the "poor" people and the Republicans are for the "rich." I think my parents believed in a system that took care of the "working class" people even though they themselves were extremely conservative in their thinking regarding many "southern" traditions.
Now as someone who is a "product" of Democratic parents, I find myself in a strong resolve believing that they DID know what was best, however, I have found that I like the word "progressive" when I describe my belief in the Democratic party.
Websters defines progressive as :
1) moving foward or onward 2) a sequence of succession, as in acts, happenings, etc. 3) advance toward perfection OR to a higher or better state; IMPROVEMENT 4) designating a tax whose rate increases as the base increases 6) favoring working for improvement 7) indicating continuing action or state or action in progress
When I think of the Democratic party I see these things.

| 1. We had better make it so! |

Make no mistake about it, this is the most radical era of cultural revolution since the '60's...though in some ways the direction of the cultural revolution is a bit different. Seeing it as "anti-conservative" would be to simple minded. Many crucial cultural and political leaders on the web (the growing leading edge Earth-wide)would not define themselves quite that way, all around the planet. Anti-NEO-conservative, it most certainly is!

past decades we see a constant--some much less than others--change. Without progress we stagnate or regress. With this administration we are definitely regressing.
