you guys are amazing. Is there NOTHING she can say or do that isn't perceived as a dirty, low-down unfair attack?

11. I think it was more that it was tremendously cruel and thoughtless towards a state Senator
who froze when he was asked a question he was not expecting. It was a brain freeze. It had to be intensely embarrasing. His own comments on it show him to be a good man, who completely failed in that experience. I suspect that sometime in everyone's life that happens - and it has to feel completely awful.

It did not prove anything about Obama - or HRC.

15. Not just "a" state senator -- Austin's state senator
This is one of the biggest screwups ever. That state senate district HAS THE MOST DELEGATES -- 8 for the primary vote, probably 4 for the caucuses. It will go against her now at least 6/2, if not 7/1, and 3/1. That ia a net delegate loss of 6 for that one district. Stupid stupid stupid.

35. you can't get the southern vote by humilating someone that way
people feel like this - ouch that could be me, I can't name one of Hillary's accomplishments.

The guy thought he was being called upon to report on local things as applied to the primary there,
he didn't think he was being called to do a stump speech for Obama.

Tweety is a piece of shit and ambushed the guy.

Ask Hillary supporters to name her legislation.

45. It's not just the South -
I grew up in Northern Indiana and have lived in the NYC area since college and I felt just like you did. Even beyond people who can't list accomplishments - I seriously doubt I would do as well playing Jeopardy for real as I do in my kitchen calling out the answers.

The tone of the Tweety interview, that MSNBC is playing so often, makes him as a appealing as the Grand Inquisitor of the Spanish Inquisition would have been. Though I have loved the tough grilling some legislators have given people who were not telling the truth about bead things they were part of, this was a guy who had done nothing wrong and did not deserve this. It reflects worse on Tweety than on him.

23. Oh, no, that was cruel, even ugly
It was cheap and petty. I was also surprised she pulled it because the guy is a Texas legislator. Some not so good local press may follow.

3. I know. As I posted in the "official" thread:
She has to turn to ONE Obama supporter who gaffed on TV.

"So SHE makes the first nasty. Surprise, surprise. Desperation is so predictable."

If so, I don't want her on the ticket with my OMAN.

I thought she was finally learning to act with dignity and grace.
Back to the same old evil Billary.

7. Nope. HE turned it into a positive for him, and she didn't get that she should dismiss
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 09:10 PM by blonndee
the whole plagiarism as overblown. Instead, she pushed it and got BOOED ON LIVE NATIONAL TV for her mistake. Bad, bad move.

On edit: Re: the Hardball thing, he followed up with a list of his accomplishments. A question re: the plagiarism "issue" followed, and she BOMBED it, while he made it a BIG positive. Sorry, I've been posting on her two negative attacks and my response to you was initially about the second attack.

Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 10:08 PM by NJSecularist
But when it isn't politically convenient, she whines and complains about MSNBC.

She practically wanted MSNBC to be taken off the air 2 weeks ago.

36. that still doesn't give an elected official, a representative of the people
a free pass.

It is absolutely unacceptable for any person going on national tv to NOT be prepared with at least an answer. It was a legitimate question.

20. Obama missed a golden opportunity here
He could have said in response: "Well, that guy didn't know my accomplishments in the Senate. But you were in the Senate with me. Why don't you list my accomplishments?"

That would have been a slam dunk.

41. Thank you, TW!! Hillary really blew that. Dissing a State Senator in Texas?!
And Tweety was rude to the guy, totally out of line, and thought he was having some kind of Perry Mason moment. If you want to know why someone likes a candidate, you ask them. If they say "because of his accomplishments," then it's fair game to say "which accomplishments?"

But to tell a guest he has to answer you, and not just answer you, but recite the legislative history in support, that's just a guy being a raging asshole and thinking he's being something special.

Tweety is a fundamentally flawed ass hat, and it has nothing to do with who he likes or dislikes. He fancies himself something he is not. You can see that he's the laughing stock of the whole NBC/MSNBC team. Olbermann, Russert, and Williams simply cannot stomach the guy, for good reason.
