Michelle Obama: "Jane Fonda Patriot of the Year Award" Recipient!
Michelle Obama: Jane Fonda "Patriot of the Year" Award

Another shocking statement of disconnect coming from Michelle Obama. IIRC, her recent interview with abc was edited down to stem her racist comments for what they were.. full agreement in pushing Donna Brazile's agenda parroting her racist comments for blaming suppression of AA advancement in the Workplace and Entrepreneurship in the Global Economy..on wide spread racism.

I would like to be on record that I am proud of my country, and have been not only all my adult life, but for all my life. What does that matter?

Michelle Obama, 44, wife of Presidential candidate, Barack Obama, doesn't agree, and I'm speechless. After all, if there is a job for First Ladies, that job is making America look good. Mrs. Obama, on the campaign trail, said, "et me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. "

Don't take my word for it; you can see the video by clicking here.

This might be one of those quotes that will go down in history, and the hundreds of comments following the video, are mostly very negative. As John Podhoretz comments, "it suggests the Obama campaign really does have its roots in New Class leftism, according to which patriotism is not only the last refuge of a scoundrel, but the first refuge as well that America is not fundamentally good but flawed, but rather fundamentally flawed and only occasionally good."

As for me, I'm awarding Mrs. Obama the Jane Fonda "Patriot of the Year" award.

45. I'm thinking you have no shame! Read
Iowa: Anyone but Obama or Hillary, Please!

"We'll shovel your walk, we'll baby-sit your kids," said Clinton campaign manager Terry McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman, on MSNBC.

It's lucky that Iowa is a caucus, because last time I looked shoveling a walk or baby-sitting were both valuable, well-paid jobs. Effectively, Hillary Clinton's campaign is bribing voters to show up to support her in the Iowa caucuses. I don't care for that, do you? It's not like a trip to Tahiti, that's for sure, but I think all we are talking about here is the price. You want a government like this?

And Obama? I would say while he's a good, maybe even a great public speaker, but that's about it. Two years ago today all the government experience Barack had was as a State Senator in Illinois. Doing business in downstate Springfield Cook County Democrat Machine style gives him ZERO experience in principled government. Since he's been missing most of the votes in DC since he started campaigning for President (shortly after being sworn-in as a US Senator), you would have to have to be deaf, dumb and blind to think he's ready to be a chief executive.

But enough for comments from Illinois. We are taking you direct to Iowa via the iowas newz liter blog, for a delightfully entertaining song and comment on Hillary's campaign and on Obama's campaign, too. Hope you enjoy it!

21. If one DUer here can find it....
How many RWers and independents are READING it, where this DUer found it??? Thought Obama was "reaching out" to those people?

Seriously, this is a gaffe, and getting snarky with DUers won't make it go away. And it likely won't be just an Obama problem...it's going to be a Democratic problem, for all of us, if he gets the nom which is likely.

So please forgive those of us uncommitted to either one at this point. I have no doubt Michelle is very intelligent, but this wasn't very smart.

29. Maybe so.. the Fonda metaphor will easily convert to a GOP soundbyte during the GE..
But if we're raising the negativity quotient question constantly about Sen Clinton as to who ultimately will be our best representative for the Democratic Nomination, I believe Mrs. Obama's attitude toward the country will be played out as UNPatriotic by the GOP.. So far, Obama supporters seem to be flummoxed as to how they would defend Mrs Obama's subjective racial prejudice that will be played out as a grave weakness in Sen Obama's candidacy.. There is enough proof available on video showing Mrs Obama attesting to these subsequent accusations as True in her own words.

If he goes on the defensive, he cant bamboozle the media with his vacuous smile and nonsensical rhetoric. Hell be playing catch-up. They need to come at him from all sideslolambush"

So Hillary should team up with the GOP to bring Obama down? :wtf:

And, if you're not livid yet, try this own out for size:

"Says:
February 20th, 2008 at 2:59 pm

...I completely agree with you, Paula. The republicans need to attack BHO now, otherwise BHO is picking up some much momentum and it would be too late. Shouldnt we send this to all the right-wing medias? Seriously, BHO is winning because of all the GOP votes. If we can swing some of those, it would be good. Basically, Hillarys core voters wont change mind; BHOs core voters wont change mind either, but we can change some of indies and the republicans mind. I hope those republicans wont regret it in the fall."

Yes, that's right, let's provide the GOP with strategy to bring a Democratic candidate down.

Yet here you are, with your "Jane Fonda Patriot of the Year award" pulling out RW shit the likes of which is only seen or heard from the likes of Stormfront, FR, Savage, Limbaugh, and Coulter. Wait, those last two are actually supporting Hillary. Hmm, maybe that explains some things

You know, you Hillary folks keep bringing up this Michelle Obama incident like it's some sort of big deal, but you know what, outside of DU, and your own little circle jerk blogs, nobody has heard about this, commented on it, brought it up. I've not heard about it on the MSM, in print, on the air, etc. You know what that makes you folks look like? Grasping, desperate sychophants who are trying to find anything that would stem the tide that is rolling over the Hillary campaign. I guess that explains why you're also resorting to this Jane Fonda crap also. Well, you're not doing your candidate any good, and you're making yourself look foolish, among many other things. Perhaps you should quit while you're ahead.
