Oliver Willis has a succinct way with words: Howard Dean Is Working
It is a short and sweet post at Oliver's blog, but it makes its point. In case you haven't noticed, many of the bloggers and such are throwing darts at him again. Why? Because he is staying under the radar and getting the party work done.

They are throwing darts at him because he won't seat the delegates, because he won't announce his plans for a solution, because he is too quiet, because he wasn't quiet in 2004. And so on.

Oliver speaks out:

Howard Dean Is Working

The chattering classes are concerned that Howard Dean isn't doing the traditional thing and chatting up tv and print reporters nonstop. But you see, Terry McAuliffe did a lot of yammering in 2004 and Ken Mehlman had a television camera permanently attached to his skull in 2006, and they both got their asses kicked. Howard Dean is doing what he's done well so far - expanding the party, taking back states we should have never lost, and getting the party on good financial standing.

His responsibility is to those of us in the party, not the press and the leather shoe gang.

I am not going to post the other stuff, because it is painful to see a segment of the blogosphere put the blame on him because Florida Democrats acted like a**holes.

Thanks, Oliver.

6. I couldn't stand Dean in 2004
But this guy has been amazing running the party, and I love that he's the anti-McAuliffe in that he's not on TV every other day. What he helped accomplish in 2006 was impressive.

8. Dr. Dean is doing a wonderful job. We're very fortunate that he took the job in '05.

9. Dean has already shown his acumen with his take-no-prisoners 50-state approach.
I have every confidence in the world in him.

11. What's going on in Wisconsin...
I was at the Founder's Day Gala on Saturday (heard both Hillary and Obama make their pitch). My daughter and I got in for free because we were signing people up for the Neighborhood Leader Program. That's where a Democrat agrees to contact 25 of his Democratic or Independent but Democratic-leaning neighbors three times between now and the general election.

We signed up nearly 1000 people in Wisconsin, including people in areas that are solid Red. !,000 Neighborhood leaders in Wisconsin means that 25,000 Democratic voters will be "plugged in" to the Novemer election. More likely to volunteer for the campaign. More likely to donate. Put up yard signs. Vote.

This is "old school" political organizing. And we're going to kick ass in November.

12. Very little attention to that program, and it is a vital one.
Glad it is working so well there. I think the DNC is getting little credit for all the work behind the scenes it has started. I guess that is the way he wants it. That is one reason for the big turnouts. Thanks for sharing.
