It was inevitable that the pendulum would swing wide...
After the incompetent, radical, and criminal Administration of George W Bush. One could have predicted that establishment candidates would have a difficult time in the next election. People do not want small change from the status quo - they want dramatic change. If anything, Hillary Clinton is an establishment candidate. While she may consider that one of her strengths, the majority of voters are looking way beyond that. The pendulum is swinging on a much wider swarth across the nation. That is the appeal of Barack Obama.

Both Hillary and McCain are living in the past. Americans want no part of this "past". They are ready to move forward. Those candidates that are not able to take the pulse of the public will be defeated. Barack Obama, like him or not, has his finger on the pulse of the American electorate.

3. Well if living in the past is wanting an experienced, qualified,
knowledgeable candidate that can walk in the ofc on day one and know what to do then I guess I'm living in the past. We know and can trust her to make good decisions for us. We know she will make wise choices in regards to appointments to positions. We know she is a hard worker, and she will not let us down. On the other hand we have a man that praises Reagan and spends much of his time trying to attract Repb., when he has a difficult vote to make he votes 'present'. We don't really know what he stands for because when he says something controversial he comes back and says he didn't say that. We don't know who he will pick for his cabinet. How many repbs will he have. What role will Joe Lieberman have? Whose going to be the one to instruct him? I don't trust his judgment, I don't trust him. He would make a good minister or motivational speaker, but NOT president of the US., at least not at this point. All he has managed to do is divide the party with his vicious mud slinging.

4. "...that can walk in the ofc on day one and know what to do .."
Like, vote for the war or not vote for the war? Continue the war or get out? Those are fine "words". But words are cheap. Maybe she can give a speech to tell us all that anyone can give a good speech? In hopes of persuading us with her "words"?

6. You better check out BO record. His votes, when he votes are
almost identical. As for experience. I've had inexperienced supervisors, a college degree doesn't mean they make good leaders. There's nothing like on the job training. In this case, if he'd had some experience in foreign relations, the economy, etc. But he has nothing going for him except he is a motivational speaker, and I think the people will soon be tired of being hood winked. Lord knows what impression foreign leaders will think if he starts his speel on them. Hope, Yes we can, my 2yr old can jump up and down and hollar that.

9. Experience is not automatically good.
Experience in the Senate, for example, might mean you have been there long enough to become part of a system that takes big money from Big Pharma, or corporate interests, at the expense of the rest of us. After all, if they have given you millions of dollars, it can be rather difficult to rationalize an argument against them. People are tired of triangulation and winning by a small minority, and depending on Joe Lieberman to give you the majority on any given day. They will no longer settle for that. They will gamble with change before they go down that road again. Get used to it.

11. You're Just So Wrong In Every Point In Your Rant...
It's laughable! With all the advantages she had, she couldn't even run a good campaign from day 1.

5. How strange she ran on as the inevitable candidate
For most of the campaign, it was "I will do this for you," not "we." I honestly felt patronized (I was an Edwards supporter then). Running on a resume has rarely been successful in U.S. history. Occasionally (see Bush senior) it has worked, but after 8 years of the Bush disaster, you would think anyone would be able to figure out this was going to be a year of change, not a year when "Ready from day 1" was going to work. And especially against Obama, who is certainly no Dukakis in 1988.

I switched to Obama, and am enthusiastic about it. But as someone who holds no grudge against Hillary (maybe a bit of a one on the war), I am wondering if even her devoted followers here can't acknowledge that running on a resume and dismissing "hope" and "words" as unimportant wasn't the most brilliant strategy in the world.

7. If she had used the term 'we' you would have said she was
including Bill.

12. Ridiculous. That's not what my post was about.
My post wasn't just some rip at Hillary. I really think her strategy was unsound. A fighting populist theme rather than "Ready from Day One" would have been far more effective. I think Edwards gave her a blueprint, and she didn't see it or use it.

I worked on behalf of Bill Clinton, and never had any personal beef with Hillary. But her aura of inevitability turned me off. And, I do have policy disagreements with her. Nevertheless, her campaign has not been as effective as it could have been. And sending Ickes and these other guys out there with a we'll-do-whatever-it-takes-no-matter-what message is not going to gain her votes in Ohio and Texas.

This isn't the time for a scorched earth policy. She's still got a shot, but it's starting to become a long one. If she loses Ohio or Texas, the call to stand down will be overwhelming, Ickes or not.

10. It's about truth.
The truth cannot be defined but it exists. Those that do not recognize reality do not recognize truth. Those that deny reality are doomed to be disappointed.

13. If the pendulum is swinging
then the powers that be have found a way to stop it.

Obama will not bring change to America, nor will any of the Candidates still in the running.

*chuckles*

Some people thought Bush was going to bring morality to the WH, too. If only they knew the full truth.
