god damn you barack obama.
i have the worst fucking stevie wonder ear worm because of you. following those great speeches with that tiny, tiny snip of stevie. so, i gotta spend hours listening to my whole collection. forgetting what i am supposed to be doing. dancing, ferchrissakes. sheesh, this cult is distracting.
seriously, i challenge those on the fence here, and even the hillary supporters among us to spend a little time listening to obama fan stevie wonder, musical signature of the campaign, and not get it.

33. If It's Magic .....

If it's magic...
Then why can't it be everlasting
Like the sun that always shines
Like the poets in this rhyme
Like the galaxies in time

If it's pleasing...
Then why can't it be never leaving
Like the day that never fails
Like on seashores there are shells
Like the time that always tells

It holds the key to every heart
Throughout the universe
It fills you up without a bite
And quenches every thirst

So...
If it's special
Then with it why aren't we as careful
As making sure we dress in style
Posing pictures with a smile
Keeping danger from a child

It holds the key to every heart
Throughout the universe
It fills you up without a bite
And quenches every thirst

So...
If it's magic...
Why can't we make it everlasting
Like the lifetime of the sun
It will leave no heart undone
For there's enough for everyone

7. Make Sure You're Sure
Well the night is young
And the stars are out
And your eyes are all aglow
And you say you feel
Ways you've never felt
But are you sure, make sure you're sure

Well, the wine is sweet
And the music sways
And your lips are so divine
And you say you know
That you're falling in love
Now, let's be mature, make sure you're sure

I'm not accustomed to wearing my feelings
In a place that's so obvious to see
But if eyes don't lie
There's a chance that you are not fooling yourself
and me

Well the night is through
And the sun's come out
And so too has your lovely smile
And you vow to stay
In these arms always
Can you endure, now are you sure

Love can be so insecure
So please be sure

31. has there ever been a greater series of albums than . . .
"Music of My Mind"

"Talking Book"

"Innervisions"

"Fulfillingness First Finale"

and the masterpiece . . .

"Songs in the Key of Life" ???

I remember Paul Simon at the Grammies the year he won Album of the Year for "Graceland" . . . the first thing he did was thank Stevie Wonder for not making an album that year . . .

45. I'm stuck on Bob Dylan...

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.--Bob Dylan

46. i'll take it.
not really talking so much about my taste, but about the kind of music that the campaign is using. i, for one, find this to be a very powerful form of communication.
listen to stevie, that is what i am saying. his endorsement should count from at least as much as kennedy and kerry. that's what i am saying.
