Ed Rendell did not race-bait so stop saying that
I know this because he just explained himself on Hardball. He then went on to show how much he is beloved by the African American community by stating, "I won 94% of the African American vote in Philadelphia in 2006, and my opponent that year was a good looking, charismatic, well spoken African American."

What a fucking asshole. He couldn't even mention his 2006 opponent's football career? Did he even SEE that catch in Super Bowl X? :eyes:

8. Yeah, and he's had one...no, wait...TWO over to his house!
(if you count the "help")

What an ass.

I hope he's not banking on that level of support from Philly again.

4. If I was a PA resident, I'd be so disappointed...
To have my governor go on national TV and collectively insult all Pennsylvanians. Seriously. I'm going to be suspicious of any PAs I meet from now on.

5. Fast Eddie is a total tool. What this PA resident heard him say
was that, while the rest of the country can see past race, the rubes here in HIS state can't.

I was spitting nails (and am still really pissed).

It was more of a slam on the people who live here than an anti-Obama thing, IMO.

Of course, Big Ed will be the first to drop to his knees and reach for the lip gloss when Obama wins here.

7. It is insulting to the American public
when politicians describe them as rendell did in PA but says more about rendell than anybody..it's also insulting when politicians resort to tricks and packaging in hopes of getting elected.

10. He race-baited and certainly won't win the 94% AA vote again.
He thought he'd say something ugly in private that he should have never said at all.

No governor should ever speak like that.

Most of all, he insulted his entire state.

His "explanation" was a shitty one.

He owes every one in PA an apology.

11. Until we reach a point where people can criticize a black
candidate without bringing on Screams--Racism, Racism Racism--
we are no where near the point this country needs to be.

12. But that's the point - it's the WHITE candidate's operatives who are playing that tired "Southern
Strategy" and a new twist by sending people out on M$M to laud the "brown-black" divide. It's smarmy and yes, race baiting. Can we say "divide and conquer."

15. Are the Clintons stupid? Obama has won every state that has voted on racial lines
Were the Clintons so stupid they didn't realize what happened? Who benefited from the racial flap? Obama and the msm. He went from the low 40's to the high 80's with blacks after swiftboating the Clintons. In South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana at least 70% of whites and at least 80% of blacks voted for someone of the same color. Obama won all four by big margins.

17. It's race baiting.
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 10:05 PM by woolldog
He was alluding to the idea that Obama is not electable because he is black. It tacitly conveys the message that, therefore, people should not vote for him because he is not as electable.

It's subtle, but clear to me.

18. And both he and Bill Clinton try to turn it against anyone in the media who dares question it.
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 10:13 PM by AtomicKitten
It's a magic trick apparently, trying to turn their nonstop, sometimes subtle, sometimes in-your-face race-baiting into somebody else's obsession for having the audacity to inquire. Feh.

To watch Tweety hold his feet to the fire like he did for his blatantly racist remarks too.
