it's a video of a kid named Derrick (sp?) outside the Hollywood Democratic Debate. It has 155,000 hits on YouTube already and I think it's a good watch for anybody who is interested. (5 mins 52 secs) I found the link to this video at Digg.com and reused the title "is the your typical obama supporter?".

His pediatrician dad (and mom) should be very proud. You can tell the interviewer racially profiled him, thinking he was only for Obama because he was black. Derrick, slapped that down with the quickness with facts....I love it!!!

I've been keeping up with your politics as of late (interesting developments) and as i get more involved i once in a while start to forget i am Canadian and start getting annoyed by things like not having healthcare paid for...here in Canada, as you all know, healthcare is pretty much universal...Although I have never got sick or needed to go to the hospital at all my entire life but i still pay taxes for it for something i have not taken advantage ever...and i'd STILL vote to keep this practice in place for the whole country for the sake that it just makes total sense....I think America needs to do this already -- Obama or Clinton (granted, hilary has failed and the other issues, but she is still limping along) is the way for real change....Go Democrats!

19. I know at least two other indy voters here in Illinois

that told me they were deciding between Obama and McCain. Neither of these two are political junkies, but base their field of choice on what they consider the authenticity and honesty of Obama and McCain, and are waiting to see how they do debating each other. These are the swing voters we need to win in the fall. Clinton's not even on their list of possibles.

I suggest that you watch the whole thing because Derrick kicks ass and winds up making points about preventative health care that causes the videographer to say (paraphrasing) - 'Wow, that's what I've been saying since the 80's!'

It turns out that Derrick is an independent voter, his dad is a pediatrician and Derrick is really well-informed. I disagree with him on several points, but he makes his points very well -- and winds up clearly impressing the videographer.

I am impressed that the guy posted the video - it makes Obama supporters and college-aged black men look really smart.

That interviewer obviously expected the youthful black man to not have a clue - that was the impression I got from his interrupting, antagonistic questions.

If you look at his Youtube profile, you'll see that he has 3 "ambush" interviews: two of Clinton's supporters and one of Obama's. The two Clintonites are morons and cannot properly articulate why they support her beyond campaign slogans, while the one Obama supporter is informed and intelligent. Coincidence? I think not.
