I miss Edwards
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 12:12 AM by SlipperySlope
I wish we still had him in the primaries, I think we are all diminshed without his views being represented.

5. Me too, but I did get to vote for him
I miss his voice, he brought the presidential contest
up a notch and made both of the front runners better
candidates for that. I really want him as the Attorney General
in the first term and then a Supreme court judge in the second term.

If he would want to do that for our nation.

9. So do I.
Edwards and Biden's supporters seemed to be a lot more civil than what we're seeing now, but I guess it's just the heat of the campaign. I think the partisans would be wise to dial it down a notch or two, though, because we're all going to have to be on the same side come November.

10. I miss him SO much too
He and Kucinich were the only ones with a REAL healthcare plan for America.

I still feel like I have no horse in the race now.

13. I really missed him when I looked at this nutty endorsement...
It's from the Plain Dealer in Ohio:

Obama's frequent talk of hope strikes some people as naive. It leads others to question his toughness. But Obama understands something his critics do not: Change requires vision and optimism, shared sacrifice and mutual trust. Hope can sustain those elements; a presidency defined by political tactics cannot.

Hillary Clinton is an exceptionally bright and accomplished woman. Only a fool could dispute that. It would be nice if Obama's policy proposals were as meaty as those she has put forward. It's no wonder she wants Democrats to see this race as a choice between resumes.

But in a campaign where history matters, she carries an inordinate amount of baggage. Who wants to relive the soap operas of the 1990s?
_______

Isn't it kinda nutty to endorse one candidate because of what he understands (but some of us don't) about what change requires, but then to wish he had the meatier policy points of, well, the other candidate? I guess the trouble with Edwards was that he was both meaty and not full of platitudes. Deadly combination, that.

20. When he ran for VP he resigned his position as senator, yes?
If memory serves me it was because he knew he wouldn't be able to put all of his focus on his constituents. Class act.

30. It's Been Said on NATIONAL TB By NATIONAL Journalist "Hate"
John Edwards in D.C.!! The D.C. Elites and all the POWER they hold worked behind the scenes on this one. Agree or not, there is some connecting of the dots.

If I were him, and I' NOT... he does have his future to think about! And he may want to feel he can still make a difference from inside, but if it were me... they'd be getting my middle finger a thousand times over.

Outta here... Good Night!

23. I think I feel worse for Edwards supporters...
...than I do for Kucinich supporters, like me. We knew Dennis never had a chance, but you guys came so close to tasting it!

For the record, I would have voted for Edwards after Kucinich dropped out.

It sucks they ripped us all off like that. I miss them both, but I'm angry with both of them, too.

28. I Don't Know How Many Here Have Noticed, That Even Mitt Romney Got
more coverage that John Edwards did when he dropped out.... so many many of his supporters are still posting POSITIVE aspects about his character and what he saw as a future or this country? His name keeps surfacing over and over. Did Ghouliani have this king of loyalty, did Thompson, or for that matter our other candidates. I liked Dodd, Biden, and really liked Kucinich, but made my choice for Edwards because I knew he had certain strengths the Kucinish didn't. He did after all get the nod to as VP. Like it or not... it meant something.

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch... My-My, it may be a barn burner, but UNFORTUNATELY we'll NEVER know who started the fire, who kept throwing wood on the fire, and if the the fire starters gave a SECOND thought to what was BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY!

This place here reminds of some sort of "drunken brawl" between 2 others who were destined "to make history" for the Democratic Party. Just remains to be seen how THAT "HISTORY" is gonna work for ya!!

I think of John Edwards EVERY SINGLE day and sometimes feel he's going to burst out of nowhere and make me alive again. Oh, sorry... that was Super Man!

For me he a SUPER MAN!! Sure, sentimental as hell, some call it idol worship, all I know is that I haven't felt so bad about an upcoming elections as this one. I wonder if "history" EVER teaches us a lesson????

27. Can I join in?
I know this will sound really dumb, but I got my VISA bill on Friday and the last charge I had on it was a donation to the John Edwards Campaign. I was a little misty eyed at that moment.

I'm going to vote for him the 19th in WI even if I have to pencil him in on the margin.

And PS~ do we have to pick Obama or Hillary to donate to DU this time around??
