the problem with Mary Landrieu as VP
it's not neccesarily her voting record, which I'll ignore for now. Despite some votes we'd disagree with she's for the most part a loyal Democrat.

The problem is she wouldn't help us much. She's no Breaux. She won by only a couple thousand votes in 1996, and by a narrow 52-48 one against a real extremist last time.

Breaux is really the only one who could help shore up Louisiana, and no I'm definately not suggesting him, while he is also a loyal Democrat he still fails many litmus tests, and I doubt he'd be retiring if he had any interest in staying in politics at all. It's actually quite a shame he isn't running for reelection, since not only would it make his seat safe rather than having to fight for it, but his coattails would massively help us out, especially if him and Kerry campaigned together. We should be able to hold the seat but it'll be a battle, and not much coattails.

The 52-48 against Terrell was actually extraordinary, because if you'll recall, it was the real first post-9/11 victory for US! For the good guys! It was basically Mary Landrieu against I (Heart) George W. Bush and she WON! She WON after being down over 10 points going into the runoff election. The 52-48 victory was really some kind of wonderful, if you examine more than the numbers.

Landrieu would deliver Louisiana on a plate for Kerry. The name Landrieu is the Cajun Kennedy. Bank.

Later.

4. They've both disgusted me beyond belief...and I'm not PROUD of 'em....
.....and the excuse of....they're as liberal as they CAN be and still get elected :eyes:...I'm sick and tired of the DINO representation I've gotten from them both....if this is as good as it gets then we're so fucked there's NO hope left for any of us...that's the plain and simple truth regardless. :(

5. Landrieu Could Help
Senator Landrieu would be an asset to Kerry. The 52-48 margin does not tell the full story. First, Landrieu beat Terrell by 40,000 votes. This was a great feat in that many Republicans came to Louisiana to campaign for Terrell. In addition, Terrell waged a very negative campaign even going as far as to say that Landrieu had walked away from her religion. Considering that Bush won Louisiana in 2000 and still is popular there the fact that Landrieu was able to defeat someone Bush campaigned for and someone that claimed she was willing to be a rubber stamp for Bush is a good thing. Landrieu also has coatails and she can get people to the polls. Landrieu would be a good choice for VP.

6. Neither Breaux or Landrieu
are really Democrats. They are right up there with Zell Miller!
