Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 04:12 PM by wndycty
Shuster's comments were inexcusable but he did the only thing you should do when you make a mistake apologize.

Hillary has yet to apologize for her decision to vote for a war that has costs thousands of lives and billions of dollars.

Shuster apologized, got suspended for making a stupid and ugly comment. Hillary does not apologize and wants a promotion despite making a decision to support an unjustified war that is costing thousands of lives.

Here is Shuster FUCKING UP!

1. Yeah, and because of her vote, kids died
I've heard some commentators theorizing that part of the reason HRC has been so *tough* on defense measures (and wanted to be on the Armed Services Committee) was that she was ALWAYS aiming to run for president. So, to prove she was as tough as the *boys*, she voted FOR THE WAR ... and sent young soldiers to fight and die. Just so she could get some *street cred* for Commander-In-Chief. Struth...

Parsing the Casey Vote

By Jeff Zeleny

The Senate voted today to confirm General George Casey as the next Army chief of staff.

The roll call vote – 83 to 14 – was far from nail-biting. But beyond the overwhelming majority for General Casey lies a curious breakdown of how senators voted, particularly the gaggle of senators who are running for president (or, at least, thinking about it).

Here is a list of the senators who supported the confirmation:
Democratic Senators Joseph R. Biden of Delaware, Christopher J. Dodd of Connecticut and Barack Obama of Illinois.
Republican Senators Sam Brownback of Kansas and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska.

And here are the senators who opposed the confirmation:
Democratic Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.
Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona.

On Capitol Hill, roll call votes seldom require as much interpretation. But senators not running for president also split along curious lines: Of the 83 voting yes, 44 were Democrats, 37 Republicans and 2 independents. Among the 14 voting no, 4 were Democrats and 10 Republicans.

In case you didn’t tune into the confirmation hearings as they unfolded in recent days, here is a very brief recap: Mr. McCain and Mrs. Clinton had criticized the general for what they believed were his misjudgments about the prospects of stabilizing Iraq. The other senators, it seems, are reserving their criticism for President Bush’s Iraq policy.

58. I know what the thread is about, but you're the one making the bogus arguments
of Hillary voting for the IWR when Obama wasn't even in the Senate at the time to face the same vote...then you threw out Hillary's votes to fund the war when Obama voted in lockstep with her. The ONLY difference in their war votes since he's been in the Senate is HIS vote for Casey...who is a murderous warmonger.

59. I didn't say that, although it's not a bogus argument.
You might be thinking of a different poster.

Yes, Hillary voted for IWR before Obama was in the US Senate, but he did speak out against it in the Illinois Senate.

The point I was making with the post above was that it's illogical for a Clinton supporter to criticize Obama for something they both did.

I recommend Sanka.

at any rate, the IWR vote and Obama being against the war are 2 diffrent things entirely. He wasn't faced with the same Intel she was being fed by Cheney and his gang of thugs. Obama wasn't faced with the same decision, so he can't argue it's the same thing.

I'm sorry, I thought you were the one who made the reference to the IWR, but you just referenced the funding votes...sorry! I'm off to get some more Gevalia Espresso!:scared:

42. Extrapolate much ... "pimp" can mean less than that ... but The Hill-bots never forgive.
BTW Monica Lewinsky was FIVE years younger than "Princess" Chelsea is now ... and we know Monica was "an intern" NOT "an adult" actively campaigning for two parents who have questionable moral compasses.

It cracks me up in a bizarre way that Schuster insulted Chelsea when HER OWN FATHER could not have sexually tainted "The Family Name" any more than he did with Monica.

Let's ask Monica Lewinsky's parents who should hold *the lion's share* of the blame for their 22 y.o. daughter having an affair with Chelsea's dad?

Again, The Clinton's getting outraged over something that can weakly be construed as sexual is way beyond BIZARRE in my book.

9. People can judge his apology for themselves
He did not apologize directly to Chelsea, and he did not flat out say that what he said was wrong. He said he used a slang term and "I didn't think people would take it literally, to the extent that some people might find it pejorative, I apologize".

See a pattern here? Anyone DARE say anything negative about The Clinton ROYALS, then you all go bat-shit-crazy.

Hello? They are NOT Gods and Goddesses. Their time to exit the Political Stage is LONG OVERDUE but they just won't take the hint.

Wake up to the fact that The Clintons are NOT the victims here, WE ARE!

If HRC gets the nod, it will be the 3rd time that we've allowed the DLC branch of our party to *select* our Democratic Presidential Nominee. You know the DLC Branch? - The Mighty Political right-of-center machine that Bill Clinton built?

It's time for "The Clinton Dynasty" in our WH to END! -> THEIR NEGATIVES far outweigh their positives.

43. Obama wasn't in the Senate at the time of that vote, so his stance on the war
and using it as an issue in this campaign is BOGUS. Comparing what Shuster said to Hillary's IWR vote is also stupid. Shuster attacked a young lady for working on her mom's campaign. Did he attack the 5 Romney sons? NO? I didn't think so.
