1. Every single media outlet has a different count of delegates and votes.
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 09:41 PM by AZBlue
Some show Clinton ahead, some show Obama. So, it would be impossible to say which one is which. I've been looking at the different sites today and am amazed at the discrepencies.

The one thing we do know for sure is that they are too close for either one to drop out yet. There are way too many states who haven't voted yet.

2. Which is which?
The number of committed delegates is still reasonably fluid at this point.

Is that your point as well?

7. Ha
The point is that I have seen several posts that suggest Hillary drop out and I was frosted...

She has won the most votes, the most big states, and the most delegates...

And I would literally bet my home and car if there was a contested Florida primary she would still win it by double digits...

10. I think you're forgetting the fact that those posts were made by idiots
Anyone making such a silly suggestion clearly doesn't understand the process and thus doesn't matter beyond their one, shallow, uninformed vote.

Anyway, Obama will beat Clinton honestly in the next big contests and win the nomination the democratic way.

11. And in late breaking news tonight....
CNN has learned that Hillary Rodham has officially dropped the name "Clinton"

(That's exactly what she would do, if that were an actual rule)

NBC News estimates Obama has 838 delegates compared to Clinton's 834. Using their own methods, other news organizations give different totals: The New York Times estimates Clinton has 892 delegates and Obama 716; ABC News gives Clinton an 872-793 edge.

Wouldn't an average or median be fairer or do we just cherry pick an estimate and make that estimate golden?

It would be like suggesting the Giants give Super Bowl rings to the New England Patriots...

Actually, I am willing to let the people decide...

The good people of PN, WV, KY, OH, and TX will put the Goddess Of Peace over the top...

17. My state's primary isn't until May.
I think it's terribly sad and unfair that by the time we (West Virginia) have a chance to vote, the race will have been decided by the other half of the country. Where is the democracy in that?

All the states and territories should vote on the SAME DAY, simultaneaously. If we did that, then dark horse candidates like Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, etc., might have had a fighting chance. Instead, people look around to see who their friends are voting for, and that in turn sways their votes when the time comes.

I. Hate. This. System.

22. I Concur
My post was intended to be ironic or sarcastic...

The most equitable way of choosing a nominee is to have four regional primaries with the order chosen at random... There would be two weeks separating each primary...

24. None. As well, I would like that to expressly indicate that Senator Gravel
should definitely stay in the race. I like him.

I liked the race for our nomination better when all 8 announced candidates were still in. The debate was broader, and richer, and more dynamic.

It felt better.
