Edwardsing Hillary?

Perhaps it is because in the morning my spouse turns the TV to the local NBC affiliates which leads to the NBC Today Show which had, of course, Tim Russert.

I have stopped watching Olbermann but it is hard to escape the under current that Hillary should just quit the race, as "they" were harping on Edwards and, yes, Romney and Huck.

I was wondering: Obama's mother was white so what would have happened had his skin color and hair were more of a Caucasian appearance? If his spouse were white? If he were just as eloquent and with the same ideas - would he have generated that much enthusiasm?

My spouse response: you know the answer..

It is really shameful that there are so many women, on DU, too, who go out of their way to trash Clinton for the most trivial reasons "she doesn't have a hobby, aside from cleaning closets and completing crossword puzzles. She doesn't appear to have been deeply attached to her family pets. She lacks sensuousness. She showed a hint of cleavage. She wore turquoise earrings with a yellow pantsuit. She liked prim headbands. She changed her maiden name. She married Bill Clinton. She stayed married to Bill Clinton. She is still married to Bill Clinton. Even her voice, Marie Brenner writes, "reminds us of the fifth grade teacher we despised."

At the same time, African Americans support Obama without feeling the need to offer any reason besides the fact that he is black.

The reason why there is so much rancor is simple -- Hillary and Barack are two peas in a pod. The less there is to disagree on, the more aggressive the disagreement becomes.

That he is getting a clean ride, no one questions his plans, his background, his track record for fear of appearing racist?

Even Jonathan Alter who, like the rest of the Newsweek commentators, is swooning over Obama and hates Clinton with a passion, admits to this.
