Read...My...Lips: I Live in Apartment 7! You Got That?! SEVEN!!!
NOT Apartment #3!!! Apartment #7! SEVEN! 7! SEVEN! 7! SEVEN!!!

One...two...three...four...five...six...SEVEN!!!

I live in California. I moved into Apartment #3 in April, 2002. In September, 2005, I moved a whopping 15 feet down the hall to Apartment #7 (that's right...7!!!)

I have re-registered to vote at least FOUR TIMES since then. BUT MY ADDRESS STILL GETS WRITTEN AS "APARTMENT #3!"

The first time it was missed--honest mistake, I'm sure.

The second time I re-registered, I wrote the apartment number in red felt-tip pen so it would stand out. Nope.

Third time? I CIRCLED (multiple times) the area where apartment number is written...they still didn't get it.

The FOURTH time was this past December when I got a new driver's license...I VERIFIED with the woman who was typing my info into the computer that the apartment number was changed to #7. I GOT A FUCKING PRINTOUT VERIFYING MY VOTER REGISTRATION, and it said #7!

I got my voter information booklets in the mail for this election...address was written with Apartment #7.

Then I get my Sample Ballot...and the fucking thing says "Apartment #3"!

I go to my polling place, and in their little sign-in book, my address says..."Apartment #3"!!!

Since 2005, every election, the poll worker has written a note next to my address telling whomever to change it to "Apartment #7".

I've been able to actually cast my vote without problems because the individual who has been living in apartment #3 since 2005 is not a US citizen, and because the poll workers in my area are really cool and don't hassle me about it. The first time it happened, however, the poll worker had me do a provisional ballot.

BUT HAS MY VOTE BEEN COUNTED ALL THIS TIME???

There's no excuse after I re-registered AT the DMV and got a print-out verifying it.

And what's this business with the voter information booklets saying apt #7 and the sample ballot, etc saying #3?

Any chance this is happening to many other people besides me?

What the hell is going on?!

Rant over.
