Could the next round of states send Obama to the nomination?
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 01:09 AM by Drunken Irishman
Looking beyond Super Tuesday, I think Obama did what he needed to do. He essentially tied with Clinton and might come out of this with more delegates, which means it's still a race. However, the next big states to vote clearly favor Obama.

Saturday:

Louisiana
Nebraska
Washington
Virgin Islands

Obama should do well in Louisiana and should take Nebraska and Washington, since they're both caucus states.

Sunday:

Maine

Again, Obama does well in caucus states.

Tuesday:

DC
Virginia
Maryland

It's possible Obama dominates these next three states, since they all have huge black populations.

Feb. 9th:

Hawaii
Wisconsin

Hawaii is his birth place and a caucus, he should do well there and very well could win Wisconsin.

After Tuesday, there is a two week window between those 9 states (and the Virgin Islands) and a pretty big day on March 4th.

Ohio
Rhode Island
Texas
Vermont

Now this is where Clinton becomes competitive again, but will it be too late? If Obama is dominating the news with wins during an entire month, could it really cut into the voting in Texas and Ohio? It's extremely possible. This is where Clinton will either win or lose this election and if the polls hold up, she should win in Ohio and Texas. However, if she loses, it could really be impossible to stop the Obama train.

In reality, this sets up perfectly for Obama and overtime it may prove to be Obama's race to lose.

6. How about refuting this with some sound logic instead of snarky attacks?
I'm all open to hearing why you think Clinton will do well here.

4. This is what the Hillary fans dont get
They got out of tonight with a tie when the should have dominated. Now he's flush with cash, they're not, and the schedule favors him.

This isn't the position any of her campaign people or supporters thought they would be in 3 weeks ago, let alone 3 months ago.

The fatal blow was struck tonight, but it will take some time to kill her campaign, but will in the end.

7. Bingo....
$32 million vs $13 million in January.

Obama has the cash, the favorable schedule, and the momentum.

Yes... Hillary won California..... bully for her... but tonight brought Obama up to being EVEN with her, and now it goes in his direction.

Secretly, the Obama camp is thrilled with how tonight went.

10. I pretty much agree with this assessment.
Of the next 9 voting states, the only one I'm iffy about is Virginia. But he has a very good shot to pull one out like he did in Missouri.

I think Texas is Hillary Country, though Obama has support in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. I think Obama would do better to spend his money and invest in a solid ground game in Ohio. I think he can be extremely competitive there.
