I'm just back from the Alaska caucus
and there were THOUSANDS of people there, so many more than anybody expected. The original plan was to close the doors at 6:00 but they had to stay open until 7:30 because there were so many people still coming, taking an hour and a half to get across town, having to park blocks away. It was phenomenal! I'm not sure of the final results -- in our district it was Obama by about 2 to 1. We held out for "uncommitted," but couldn't get to the 15% so ultimately went to Hillary because we like underdogs. :P

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys all know that Alaska is not as deep red as you think. We may surprise you. :)

2. Thank you, Blue in AK!
Could you please tell me why Obama is doing so well up there in your fine State? :)

9. Hillary is pretty much universally hated here
and has been for a long time. I'm not sure why. I used to think it had something to do with her opposition to drilling in ANWR, but I think Obama opposes that, too, so I'm not sure why he is so much more popular than she is. Maybe because he's new. I know a lot of people who supported Edwards (including us), but when he dropped out, most of them went with Obama. I'm still not comfortable with him, but I will for sure vote for him if he's the nominee. We just went with the Hillary camp tonight because she was so far behind.

11. Thanks! Obama
was against the War On Iraq and that's the deal sealer for me. hilary is my senator and she's showed no courage or leadership for 7 years and they've done nothing but dirty politics.

I'm with the majority os Alaskan Dems on this.

6. That seems to be the result in most of the caucus states. The state Dem Parties
did not grasp what was going to happen and plan well for it. But - hey - that is good news. Turnout Explosion!

7. I think the close race between Hillary and Obama even more
than disillusionment with Bush is the reason for the huge turnout.

That's good news for all Dems.
