Obama supporters check in - how ya feeling on Super Tuesday?
I'd say I'm guardedly optimistic. The momentum that Obama has generated over the past few weeks has been remarkable, but I'm not sure he has enough legs to pass Hillary today anyway - but he may come damn close.

The conventional wisdom I've heard from a variety of talking heads is if Obama gets anything over 40% of the total delegate share today, that it would bode well for his chances down the road. Many of the 'middle state' primaries coming up in later weeks have the demographics which favor him. So in this marathon we call the primaries, a 40% + delegate share would be considered a good pace to finish and WIN with a sprint at the end. A 50/50 split would be great news and better than that....well, I won't go there.

I'm torn between not getting over confident (remember New Hampshire) but also feeling he is on a heck of a roll (remember South Carolina). Throw in that I don't trust voting machines farther than I can throw em --- and I'm left with an uncomfortable degree of uncertainty as well.

In the end, I hope today - at the very least - keeps Obama on pace and competitive. And at best, his voting totals could send an undeniable message to the M$M and the party faithful that Obama could very well win it all!

peace~:)

4. strangely
peaceful-

I'm from NH- the results on the 8th surprised me, and bothered me, but today I feel calm.

I don't think that it is because I've already voted. If Obama is meant to be president (and I believe he is) it will all come out the way it is supposed to.

Our country is in desperate need of healing and a positive new direction.

peace~

We have workers standing on street corners with Obama signs here in SF. I'm leaving shortly to work my shift driving voters to vote. This is a genuine grassroots organization here in SF and it is nothing short of spectacular.

In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Yes, we can.

14. I'm working through the former hydroponics shop on Market St.
Mostly in the field, and I've met all kinds of amazing people. I may have rubbed elbows with your friend. The campaign is really quite breathtaking here in SF. It seems to have risen out of nothing to become a heartfelt communal endeavor. We all have "Yes, We Can!" looped as our rallying cry, our mantra. Yes, we can!

10. Hillary is running out of cash, and her BIG donors... Well, they can't donate any more $$$
So, if it's close... Obama will have the cash to put up TV ad after TV ad. If we stay close, we will win.

38. Do you have a source?
I have heard a lot of people claim that Hillary's running out of money, but opensecrets and the FEC show that she's got a ton of money to spend.

11. I feel cautiously optimistic.
My original choice was Dennis Kucinich, and then Edwards; but, I really feel that I have to do my best to stop the Warmonger. So, I've gradually become an Obama supporter in the last week or so.

I'm a law school graduate, and I'm thoroughly impressed by his knowledge of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and case precedent.

Hillary seems to have forgotten her law school experience; she votes for resolutions that authorize actions that are preemptive and illegal (not to mention immoral).

15. I don't think I have...
any sense of what the outcome will be... either good or bad. I had to go to New Hampshire today, so I passed through several towns and the polling places were really busy. My little no stop light village also had a steady stream of voters this morning. I don't know how that bodes for any candidate but it was great to see.

19. At the very worst
he places well tonight just a chunk behind Hillary.

Then he is set up to blitz her next week in the mid atlantic states (DC, Virginia, Maryland), even her supporters admit to that (see Dan Balz article todays WP).

Then Barack comes in and cleans up in my state of Wisconsin on the 19th. Milwaukee with a large african-american population, and dane county (Madison) with the main UW campus, are the 2 largest democratic strong holds in the state, and Barack figures to run real well in each one ergo a solid win in Wisconsin.

Then it will be on to Ohio and Texas.

Still I expect reasonably good news tonight.

BTW: For what is worth I think that McCain will for all practicable purposes wrap up the GOP nod tonight.:)

He's coming to Omaha for a rally on Thursday to drum up support for our first ever caucus on Saturday. Clinton won't decide until the Super Tuesday votes are in weather she'll bother coming to our town. Not that i'd go anyway....

28. Feeling that more folks will go for the "safe" candidate.....
meaning wanting very little return and not much change.

Add the stock market drop.....and folks scared of everything,
and so, I'm not feeling as optimistic as I feel when I think of an Obama Presidency. When I think of President Obama, that is when I feel really, really good. I even cry!

Who are less cynical and more optimistic.

Lets hope that idealism catches on - and after the shit that Shrub has put this country through - we could use some idealism!

I think more people want change than safe.
