They have to go to a second round because somebody needs to get a majority of the vote.

5. Don't be so certain. A lot of Huckabee's voters vote on personal character.
McCain is far closer to be a good person than Mittens.

7. That and...
a lot of the flat-Earthers are not too fond of Mormons, despite the fact that Mormons are often flat-Earthers too...

6. Look for McCain to partner with Huckabee
They go out of the way to be complimentary of each other and would shore up some of the lost conservatives that McCain alienates.

McCain/Huckabee - mark it down

8. Lol...
...it'll be McCain/Lieberman...

In the General Election, it'll be more important to garner "crossover" appeal than to secure the growingly marginalized and nutty far right wing fringe.

9. That's another good point
However, it wouldn't account for the right-wing "base" that may sit this one out (as per their marching orders from Rush Limbaugh). Dobson and his ilk are also saying that they won't vote for McCain in a primary or a general. At the end of the day, that's a huge chunk that Republican's could always rely on before. I don't think there will be enough crossover to account for that loss.

It could be Lieberman though, but I'm not sure if there's anything about him that would pull voters in to vote for that ticket. He did nothing for Gore in 2000.

10. 2nd rounds
hrough 30 of 55 counties on the second ballot:

316 Huckabee
275 Romney

I don't know where the other counties will go, but I'm told that most of the Paul people are going with Huckabee.
