Would Obama kill universal health care to get elected?
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 01:56 AM by BenDavid
"The Obama campaign sends out an ugly mailer. Sorry, but this is just destructive
- like the Obama plan, the Clinton plan offers subsidies to lower-income families.
And BO himself has conceded that he might have to penalize people who don’t buy
insurance until they need care. So this is just poisoning the well for health care reform.
The politics of hope, indeed - this time a Democrat is doing the smearing for the (GOP)"
-- Paul Krugman,

"Mr, Krugman, thanks for continuing to hold Obama’s feet to the fire, even in the face of his deification by all other commentators."

Challenge: Can you name a TV pundit who's not pulling for Obama?

2. IMO we have reached critical mass on this issue and any Democratic
president will have to campaign on the issue and then deliver on it once in the Oval Office.

Degrees of satisfaction on the final bill will vary, certainly.

But I think it's going to happen one way or the other.

4. Hillary gave it up for 14 years after '93.
Why shouldn't I believe she'll give it up again to get elected? Its the Clinton way.

6. No one in this race is offering universal health care...
both plans are all about private companies getting rich offering the same crappy policies most of us already pay for, for the same fucking premiums, to more people, with no guarantees of coverage. That is NOT universal health care.

9. KO and Fineman were not pushing him at first
but KO is on board now. Why does this not set off red flags??? What possible reason could the pundits have for pushing Obama, than they know he would lose the general election??
