11. A trip into the belly of the rightwing beast
looking for common cause -- he's still a nonpartisan advocate for ferreting out government/corporate fraud and waste. Accounts from both sides showed they regarded each other with a sort of wary amusement, and neither came away with anything especially nice to say about the other.

conspiracy theories. Ralph is too much about himself to be a GOP operative (consciously) anyways.

I believe the below explanations are as good as any.

2. I guess many DUers have black helicopters flying overhead...
Ralph Nader as a GOP operative is ridiculous. Ralph Nader is a Ralph Nader operative. He's an egotistic autocrat -- not a GOP operative.

Nad(i)r actively campaigned in Battleground States in the waning days of Election 00 and he's determined to hand the election to Bush again in 04....

Nad(i)r is my enemy just as the Pukes are....

4. Yes, he COULD be
Is it likely though? I don't think so. I find it much more probable that the DLC is composed of Republican operatives, I mean after all, look at how far right they've taken the party, how they have cozied up to big business, how they've abandoned their base, how they've kow-towed to Bushco the past three years, and how they've pretty much agreed with everything Bushco and the Republicans have said.

Compare that to Nader, who has been taking the 'Pugs to task as few Dems will dare to, how his platform is radically different from the 'Pugs(unlike the Dems, who among other things, want to continue to send soldiers into harm's way in that quagmire known as Iraq), and how he has no corporate money, thus no corporate master behind him(again, unlike the Dems, who have the very same corporate masters commanding them as the 'Pugs do)

No, as much as the Nader Haters out there would like to believe in this tin foil theory, it simply isn't true. Better look to the DLC/DNC for 'Pug operatives like *gasp* James Baker, and various PNAC signitors.

6. The DLC Is Transparent....
Unlike Nad(i)r they make no bones about their agenda...

They are pro-business, pro- military, socially progressive Democrats...

That's a huge differeence between Grover, errrrrr, Ralph Nad(i)r...

10. Worse, Nader is a nazi...
Nader's earned his millions by being a trojan horse. He was not out to defend the public from corporate corruption, it was the other way around. Nader defended corporate corruption. The public didn't make him a millionare, corporations did.

14. Nazi?
I don't like Nader a whole lot - but no matter what I think, he's no Nazi. I hate it when people throw that word around.

It cheapens what happened and the seriousness of the crimes against humanity that they inflicted.

15. The man wrote the Clean Water Act,
is largely responsible for air bags, and in general has a long life proving what his politics are. I don't agree with him on everything, I don't like everything he's done, but after a very long life of living like a monk almost in his personal life acting in a very consistent way politically, you have to be out of your skull to believe he was a secret GOP operative.

And, no, the Republicans never bought Nader campaign commercials. That's an urban legend...not an innocent one like crocodiles in the sewers, a malicious one, like "Jews were warned to stay home from work on 9/11."

Let me give you a little friendly advice. If you want the 2.7 million Americans who voted for Nader last time to vote for DLC-boy Kerry this time, you're not going to get the job done by insulting them, condescendingly lecturing to them and spinning bizzare consipiracy theories that insult every one's intelligence.

16. Was Ross Perot a covert Democratic operative?
A third-party candidacy can be an asset to either the GOP or the Democrats. That doesn't make the candidate an "operative."

I have a funny feeling many of those saying "Damn straight, Nader's a GOP agent" wouldn't hesitate to make  at the suggestion there's something unhealthy about the influence of Skull & Bones, or say "You're making us all look crazy!" when we talk about LIHOP, assassinations or other high crimes.

Ask not for whom the tinfoil crinkles. It crinkles for thee.

18. Looking at these poll results so far
I really wish so many leftists weren't so reflexive about promoting conspiracy theories for everything. There are other explanations for bad things in this world. Our opponents don't always use conspiracies. Usually they settle for lies and distortion. Often they content themselves with openly buying loyalties when and where they need it, with nary a shred of deception attempted. Our conditioned eagerness to proclaim a shadowy conspiracy behind every social or political wrong is a big part of why many people dismiss progressives without even listening to us. Things are frequently straight forward. Corporate special interests have the money and they own the media, and they have the legal means to openly do a thousand bad things daily. It usually doesn't require a conspiracy for them to further their self interests.

19. No way
The reactionaries here need to get a grip. Nader has done more for this country and for regular folks than I imagine the sum total of DUers ever has or ever will. He is *not* the kind of person to take money in order to sabotage the Dems. Get a freaking grip.

Sure the GOP paid for Nader ads in 2000...that has NOTHING to do with Nader and everything to do with the GOP. I say again...get a grip. Promote your candidate, and quit worrying about what Nader does.

He's damaging our chances of rescuing this country, and, far from stupid, he well knows it.
