Obama has been campaining with Chairman Dean's 50 state strategy in mind
This is one of the things I like about the Obama campaign. They are not forgetting the smaller states and even some which are traditionally red. For instance, Obama has paid staffers in several cities in ND, while HRC has none. He is also broadcasting an ad in the sate featuring Sen. Kent Conrad. He has made visits to states like Idaho, Kansas (where Gov. Sebilius endorsed him) and Utah and it's showing some good dividends for him, I think. That was one of Howard Dean's big things when he became Chairman to get the dems to be truly national and campaign in states which are not traditionally democratic and I'm glad to see Obama is doing this.

2. Hear hear! I definitely agree!
I think this will expand the democratic party and will make at least some of these states competitive in the general election besides the fact of helping in "down ticket" races.

Conceding half the country to the republicans is no way to a party.

3. He's had the offices for a while
He opened an office in Alaska right before Iowa. He's planning a big national win on Tuesday to gain momentum. That's why Hillary has been yammering about it not being a state by state election. Although it doesn't look like she's going to get the delegates she was hoping for either, which is why she's also yammering about MI & FL.
