I don't even want them in the same state, time zone or country. There is nothing as offensive as a 9-11 truther. Well... an anti-semitic 9-11 truther would be worse, I guess, but by that point, it's just a matter of degrees.

Advice to 9-11 truthers... whenever you go to talk, just think that instead of some whackjob 9-11 conspiracy theory, that you're actually defending FGM or denying the Holocaust. It's about as offensive.

Bullshit? I have been around highly educated people for most of my adult life, both academics and non-academic phD's (including a family member with a PhD who SAW the fricken plane in DC minutes before it hit the pentagon.)
Oh by the way, as a scientist who makes her living interpreting data..all the truthers evidence is complete and utter bullshit, and incrediblly scientifically accurate.

I'm sick of people assuming that anyone with a high-level degree appended to their name is automatically right on any subject on which they might choose to pontificate. I live in a university town. I know a lot of PhD candidates. A lot of them are bright people. But some of them, just like every other group of people, are fucking nuts. (mumbles something about a crazy ex-girlfriend.) They're as varied a group of people as can be. The fact that Ted Kaczynski and Noam Chomsky are both academics doesn't mean we ought to take the ideas of both seriously. Because one of them... is FUCKING NUTS.
