When you come to a fork in the road, take it!
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 05:06 PM by Padraig18
I'm seeing tons of posts here that say either a.) they're tired of people 'whining' about Kerry winning, or b.) they're tired of certain Kerry supporters rubbing their noses in it. I have a novel idea, and I'd illustrate it thusly:

Imagine we are all on the same road initially, and then we come to a fork in that road. Some of us will take the right-hand fork and go to Kerry/ABB, while some will take the left-hand fork and go Nader/Green/whatever; still others will will stand and ponder which fork to take. Can we all just agree to go whichever way we're going to go without calling each other 'fools' and 'whiners', if not worse? And can we also please not rudely shove the folks who are pondering which way to go into the ditch, and berate them for blocking our way?

Just a thought...

2. If the Nader/Green/Whatever
people would go quietly down that road, nobody would say a word.

But when they come here here and loudly proclaim why they're doing it, attacking the nominee in the process, there will be responses.

3. I never suggested otherwise.

OTOH, not every question about Sen. Kerry or his policies is an attack, as people took great glee in pointing out to Dean supporters for months on end. Since he will be our nominee, DEFENDING him from an attack is fine.

7. I think it is natural for people who rightly or wrongly, felt that the

Democratic party wanted them, on finding out that it in fact, does not, will express some disappointment.

While there are a lot of first time voters in that category, there are also a lot of older people, who have been giving the Dems just one more chance for decades, and who may have thought because the situation at this time is so extreme, that there might be some inclination on the part of the party :) to return to that time when the party did dip a toe into the waters of change, and did give hope to a lot of people.

You can compare it to a love affair with a promising first bloom, that slides downhill from there, and all your efforts to bring the sweetheart back to that auspicious beginning are to no avail, although it would be easy to call you a fool, you will still be hurt when the sweetheart tells you to get lost.

4. That's a good thought, thanks for posting it.
It would save a lot grief if everyone around here took your advice.

8. Sorry but I can't stand whiners and hand wringers
Look I was for Clark, he dropped put, I moved on and now will back the eventual nominee - John Kerry. I don't expect everybody to do likewise but I don't need to read the baseless and malicious attacks against the Dem nominee either.
