2. ???
This e-mail was sent to me from the campaign and they know that I live in Philly. So, it doesn't seem like being a ST voter is an absolute requirement.

6. Absolutely. The Obamas are showing Delaware some love...
First Michelle and now the man himself?

That's some big respect for one of our smaller states!

9. I'm sure it's about respect.....
yeah, that's the ticket...2 months ago, no one gave a shit about DE, when Joe was in the race.

11. Delaware wasn't on the brink of voting 2 months ago.
Now they are. There are lots of states getting some extra love right now.

Out of curiosity, has Hillary been to Delaware, or does she plan to?

14. Maybe Obama sees those 23? delegates as critical...
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 01:24 PM by 1corona4u
and knows he's going to need everyone he gets? There are a lot of people on this board from DE. Maybe you should ask them.

7. Can you confirm this?
This is sounding more like an endorsement.

And more like I'll have to make the trip, lol.

8. Not to demean the citizens of Deleware....but is Delaware really that important?
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 01:03 PM by NJSecularist
Especially considering all the other states at stake in Super Tuesday. There are only 23 delegates available, Del. means nothing... he should spend that time in Missouri and Minnesota, where many more delegates are at stake.

10. Unless he's there to pick up Biden's endorsement...
I've been checking Obama's Delaware schedule often. To my knowledge, this has just been VERY recently scheduled.

Makes ya wonder, eh?

Joe has made it pretty clear so far, that he's not interested in endorsing either of them.

13. Biden's endorsement doesn't mean much beyond Delaware...
and Delaware is a relatively unimportant state in this process.

Not to demean Biden, but I just don't think Biden's endorsement will give Obama anything.

32. Biden's endorsement helps ease folk's concern about Obama being "ready"
Just like Kennedy's helped. Biden is identified closely with foreign policy. His endorsement would help Obama substantially, relative to endorsements. I don't think endorsements matter much except for the titans like Kennedy, Gore, and now Edwards.

20. Obama is running a small state strategy
Plus he is going to Wilmington, not Dover. Wilmington is in the Philadelphia media market which means, NJSecularist ;) , it will give him publicity in southern New Jersey as well.

Perhaps this strategy will work. I'd like for him to make a trip to Minnesota, though.

30. It's about 20-25 min. by car from Philly...
30-40 min. from Philly by train.

So I'd say it's about 2 or 2.5 hrs from New York, depending on how you drive, lol.

It's also easy to reach by train though.

However, Obama is speaking in CT on Monday too, as an FYI.
