Kucinich staying in presidential race
CLEVELAND, March 3 (UPI) -- Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich says he'll remain in the Democratic presidential race despite John Kerry's near sweep of Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses.

Kerry won in nine of the 10 states, including Ohio where Kucinich received a disappointing 8 percent of the vote.

Kerry got 52 percent, crushing North Carolina rival John Edwards.

Kucinich, who finished second in last week's Hawaii primary, continued to campaign Wednesday in Florida, one of four Southern states holding primaries or caucuses next week. Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas also hold contests March 9.

"My voice is needed in this debate," Kucinich told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "With fewer candidates, my contrast with Senator Kerry will be much more apparent."

2. "only other candidate"
Did I miss something? Did Sharpton drop out?

"With fewer candidates, my contrast with Senator Kerry will be much more apparent."

Dennis is certainly correct there. He does provide a different voice and has views that clearly contrast with Kerry's.

I give him credit for continuing on, though I really didn't expect otherwise.

4. if you read the article you will note this ....
"The New York Post said Al Sharpton planned to meet with advisers Wednesday to assess his campaign after his disappointing third-place showing in his home state of New York."

Don't get me wrong, I like Al Sharpton. He has been a great addition and needed voice in this race. I wish he'd stay in too, but I guess he's considering dropping out it sounds like.

:(

7. I wouldn't be too surprised if he did.
I just hadn't heard anything semi-official yet.

I really thought he'd do better in NY, but I think a lot of his potential support was split between Kerry & Edwards since (at that time), it was still considered a race.

It was nice to see Dennis do well in MN and pick up a few more delegates.

3. hell yes!
I believe we would've seen an entirely different primary season were it not for DK being there, forcing the bigger names to run Left to keep up with him. He can do this all the way to November and I'll be happy :)

5. That's the fighter we voted for
His voice is undeniably an asset to the Democratic race. Kerry needs DK more than DK needs Kerry, and I look forward to DK still delivering the goods from the stump.

6. Thank you for the reminder.
We need to do whatever it takes to get DK more delegates. He speaks for us.
