The Clinton "Victory Speech" in FL Defines Why Many Are Turned Off Of Her
To me, I watched that Clinton speech and thought, "Oh. My. God. Only the Clinton's could turn this "victory" into something so much more than it is." Agreements? Ah, forget it. I guess they don't matter. I watched her in full "Campaign Rally/Victory Party mode" and honestly, felt that it showed me more about Hillary Clinton than anything else in this campaign, except maybe the insidious use of the race card in South Carolina. But with all of this together in two weeks, haven't we all seen a Hillary Clinton that is not to be trusted with the issues - or the process?

People at DU are good thinkers. For those of you undecided, this spectacle in Florida should help you make up your mind.

Interesting that Hillary didn't give a shit about Florida's voters until Obama threw a monkey wrench in her coronation plans.

None of them campaigned there, and she wiped the floor with him. By 21%. If the media would stop giving us the American Idol of politics, Obama wouldn't stand a chance. And if he was a white guy with as thin a resume he would have been laughed off the national stage by now.

33. So 2 million dem voters going to the polls
is the sound of one hand clapping? How so? I mean I know Obama supporters are insanely illogical, but how do you make the case that two million dem voters are not indicative of dems wanting their voice heard on this nomination? She beat him by like 21% points in a state neither of them campaigned in. That's pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

I'm not downplaying her victory--just noting that it was not a hot contest
and there were no delegates, so it's kind of hollow. But I would fully expect she'd celebrate it--Obama or Edwards would, had they won.

What's wrong with thanking the voters who came out to vote for you? Nothing. Where were Edwards and Obama? They should have come to FL too....The voters in Fl are not to blame for not getting delegates...it is the politicans that stripped them of their vote. Maybe Obama and Edwards shouldn't have snubbed the voters of Fl tonight.

It doesn't necessarily make it so.

28. It's helped me make up my mind...
Every day I find myself more revolted at how her and Bill are handling this race.

I've been saying up until now that if she was the nominee I'd vote for her even if it was only voting for my daughter to see a woman president.

Now I'm convinced more than ever that I don't want her to see that this is how it would have to happen.

37. I think Obama should come clean on this.
I cannot tell you how many Obama supporters were all over the streets of florida with their posters swinging in the breeze. Six million households received Obama ads.

That he allows this pitiable lie to fester, that he did not campaign in Florida, flies in the face of Floridians that know better.

70. For the record, I live in Miami and never saw a poster or a flyer for Obama or Edwards
I knew about a few small meetups and events for them (but none with the candidates themselves here), but aside from the Hillary events on Friday (which were well publicized), I saw no ads (except 2 national ads for him on CNN) and there were no local media buys. At least not here in Miami Dade.

98. Correct- the fix is in for McCain and has been in since 2000
I really believe they promised this to him in 2000 when they swiftboated him out of the election. I also think they have been planning a McCain - Clinton election for years and have been gathering amnution for attacks on Clinton since that time which is why they are so frazzled by the Obama wave of excitement. They will rig this for McCain- have already, I assume, started the process and will continue to do so. She cannot beat him-at least not in my view. I'm not sure anyone can given how good they are at their game. Obama has a slight chance just because there might be enough anti-war independants who might be able to be swayed by the buzz he creates but I can assure you- those folks will either not vote at all or they will vote for McCain. But they will not vote for Hillary. Not a chance.

by now that nothing Clinton does will please those who have already made up their minds she's the evil one. Just relax and go with your disgust of her. Heck, Corpress hates her, and loves Obama, so you're in good company! Remember, it's all about UNITY!!

57. Clinton victory speech in Florida
Clinton victory speech in Florida

What a difference from the last primary. It was wheels up on Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s jet Saturday evening moments after the polls closed in South Carolina, where Sen. Barack Obama soundly trounced her.

Although the Democratic National Committee has stripped Florida of its delegates, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton flew into the state tonight for a rally to celebrate her big victory over Obama in the state’s presidential primary.

snip

Clinton said she would work to seat Florida’s delegates at the national party convention, which will be held in late August. It would be in her own interest do so, since Florida’s delegation might provide her with the margin of victory at a closely fought convention.

“The pundits who say Florida does not count cannot ignore 2.5 million Democrats,’’ said Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. moments before Clinton spoke.

103. Where Obaba campaigns - the young vote marches to the polls.
He played by the rules (as did Hillary until her defeat in SC) and now she's trying to make this look like so much more than it is. The young people knew "it didn't count" and did not show up. That is the bottom line.
