When do the polls close in Florida?

The panhandle is in the central time zone and the rest of Florida in the eastern time zone.

5. Polls close at 7 PM Local time

Most of the state is in Eastern time, so most polls close at 7 PM EST. The panhandle is in central time, and so closes at 7 PM CST (8 PM EST). Anyone in line at 7 can vote, so polls can close after 7 PM local.

Generally speaking when someone asks when the polls close, they mean when the LAST polls close. In Florida the polls close at 7 PM local time, so the last polls close at 7 PM CST, which is 8 PM EST. So if you want the short answer, the last polls close at 8 PM. But I like to be technical, the polls close at 7 PM local.
