Hey Obamites, Get Your Candidate To Talk About Class...He'll be a lock to win then!
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 06:41 PM by Ken Burch
If Obama took up Edwards' and Kucinich's points about excess corporate power, that would give him a HUGE advantage over HRC, who only has the right-wing corporate types in the party. Why not try it?

You know there's no reason to leave class and inequality out of it. And you have everything to gain.

End This Thing Right Now---FIGHT THE POWER!!!!

It's the way to win, folks.

1. Because lower "working" class people don't think of themselves as such. People tend to
identify with people better off than themselves.

However, what might work well is talking about regulating corporate power and enforcing rules the same way a parent monitors a teenager and sets limits.

2. He's intentionally Not talking about class
Listen to his speech in South Carolina.
Listen to his talk of unity.
It's very clear he does not want to talk about class.

That's the reason I'm supporting Edwards.

4. Talking about Class isn't THAT old-fashioned. It's not like it went away.
It's about talking about the people versus the powerful, the Excluded Majority versus the Few.

If you're in this party, why would you object to addressing class anyway? It's not like we gain anything by pretending it isn't there and deluding ourselves into thinking the non-Kennedy rich are ever gonna get it.

5. His donors will drop him like a hot potato
They're not interested in helping the working class and poor and sure won't give Obama any more money if he starts talking that way.

6. Obama's gaining groud because he's seen as positive and charismatic,
Not because rank-and-file Dems want a nominee who leaves workers out in the cold. And we can't win solely with yuppies.

Obama needs to tell workers(a lot of whom are African-American and Hispanic)that they matter as much as the big donors. He can do nothing for them in office if he leaves them out in the cold in the campaign.
