1. Good question. I think the "green collar jobs" approach has real promise.
Whenever I look at the big picture, I see energy as the core economic issue going forward. So the green collar jobs thing is a good way to boost available energy while creating jobs, and jobs are the difference here between a slowdown in parts of the market and what could become a depression.

2. It's always good to stick with the basics.
Good jobs at good wages here, so the people can buy goods
Manufactured here.
More savings, less credit.
The government must live within its means.

4. Draino and a socket wrench?
Sorry, been doing some plumbing.

Short answer. In the long-term we have to restore the balance of values that has been lost over the last 30 years. In other words, move back in the direction of popular pressure for corporations to actually pay people for work, have some loyalty to the Unites States and the communities where corporations are based, accept some loss of short-term profit to ensure a viable society for all....etc.

We also have to combat the CON job that has been perpetuatedm such as "Allowing us to form a monopoly is the only way to preserve competition." ....or "Laying you off is good for the economy."

In terms of policy, we have to re-regulate corporate behavior, bring anti-trust enforcement out of the closet, and stop privatizing and outsourcing all public rtesources such as utilities, roads, etc.

6. I think the first thing would be to give businesses a tax benefit for
every American worker they hire TO WORK HERE IN THE US and impose an import tax on goods no matter whether they are raw materials or finished goods. Make it unprofitable for companies to export jobs.

Enforce regulations on lending of all kind. Mortgages, home equity loans, auto loans, even payday loans. The laws are already there, they need to be enforced via oversight!

Both of those things could happen very quickly, and have a positive impact on the economy.

The green jobs, and all the other suggestions are good ideas too. The problem I see is that until Shrub is gone, NONE of it will happen.

7. Let´s start with the concept of "truth".
Truth number 1:
If you don´t have the money in your pocket, you can´t buy the candy.
