Congrats to all Kerry supporters
I am 100% behind Kerry at this point regardless of the DLC. I'll try to work on the wife to send him cash asap. I think he's a good candidate. I don't think he would be the candidate he is today without Dean's influence on the race but that's besides the point. Let's get him in. Please, oh, please be nice to everyone else out there. Be inclusive. Bring everyone in. Thanks.

1. Well spoken.
Wouldn't it spook the Goops and the establishment if a lot of small contributions start piling into his campaign for the next few weeks?

2. Congrats from this "Kucitizen"
Now that it appears we have a definite nominee, I will fully support that nominee, while at the same time working to hold his feet to the fire to pursue progressive reforms and policies.

Contrary to what people on both sides of the argument may say, it is very possible (and productive) to do both at the same time.

6. fair and square
Well, he did win. And we could have done a lot worse. We could have had candidates like Forbes, Bush, Dole, Pat Robertson, Pat Buchanan, Dan Quayle, or even wobbly John McCain.

5. Well said.
Thank you for posting this. The only to unify the party is to treat each other with respect.

8. W has 131 million in the war chest (and other tidbits)
Now THAT is scary!

So send what you can and whenever you can, and encourage people to do the same. It seesm we have a pretty unified party and a decent shot at getting the White House and country back.

Some Kerry tidbits I read recently...I'd like to pass along.

To those people who doesn;t think Kerry is Liberal enough, I would ask them if they think Kennedy is more liberal than Bush? The answer would probably be yes, agreed? Well the National Journal, amog other places, ranks Kerry's voting record as more liberal than Kennedy's. <http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040227-111241-3716r.htm>

Yes, that's a bit deceiving as Kerry tends to lean more centrist on some fiscal issues (much of which is okay with me) which usually have a lot less weight on these types of scales But he's also done a lot that defies some categorization...he tends to pick some tough but important fights that other people wouldn't...and the media, of course, didn't really touch. Here is a good article from the Nation <http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040315&s=corn>.

And here is another on from December where some big name mostly left-leaning journalists grilled him in person about his voting for the war.< http://truthout.org/docs_03/121003A.shtml>.

I think (well, hope really) both these articles might make some people feel better about Kerry. In my opinion these artilces give him both some humanity and humility, and show that he's willing to put the good of his country above his party and can be more bipartisan than the GOP will make him out to be.

Just my 2 cents.

7. Thank you, mrgorth
And may I also add that I really think the Democratic Party did itself proud this primary season. I mean, just look at the field of candidates this party had to offer! Every one of the 10 was truly an asset.

The fact of their candidacies, every one of them, served to strengthen Senator Kerry, and have made him a better candidate. He will, as a result of the challenges during the Primary season, be far more effective against the onslaught that is to come.

Here's to a Democratic (and democratic, for that matter) victory in November!
