We lost one potentiallty great candidate with a social gaffe in 04...
If this handshake crap does the same kind of damage to Obama that Dean's moment of overexuberance did in 04, I'm gonna give up and endorse Lee Mercer for President.

1. It won't.
this isn't going to blow him out of the water anymore than bill's behavior blew Hill out of it.

3. Bill was not running,
Obama is. There is a difference.
There is a real possibly that this
could change public perception. Just
like Hillary getting emotional during
a question changed public opinion.
This can too, and in a worse way.
He comes off as a poor sport, arrogant
and a little too big for his britches.
We have had an arrogant idiot in the
White House for over 7 years. Arrogance
is not one of the redeeming qualities one
looks for in a candidate.

2. For real.
This reminds me of the nonstop coverage of Al Gore's sighs and the bogus allegation that he claimed to invent the internet back in 2000.

4. Do you know what's kind of sad?
That this moment could affect voters.

However, I think that the dolts of this country--who are actually swayed by this
type of bunk--will see it as Obama being tough.

Some will see it as Obama standing up to an established politician, after he
just received the endorsement of an even-more-established politician.

The idiots of this world will see it as a moment where Obama stood up to her
and wasn't afraid to snub her. The kind of people who are influenced by
this malarkey--are the same people who will now believe that Obama will
be tougher on national security issues--because he stood up to Hillary.

:eyes:

Frankly, I think anyone who makes any sort of political decision--based on
this moment--is pathetic. But they're out there.

5. time.com has a great archive of campaign gaffes
the GOP ones are often ignorant and/or frightening. Too bad we don't pay attention to those.

6. If this changes anything
I will officially have lost 90% of my respect for the Dem voters. And I say that as an undecided voter.

7. He's piling them up.
It wasn't just a social gaffe, it was an unguarded indication of character, another "you're likable enough" moment rearing its ugly head. He's a pretend nice guy. Well, he is gracious enough with Repukes.

There will be more.

11. Here's something people haven't considered, but I will expound upon after the nomination:
Obama in fact could not have run were it not for Hillary's candidacy.

this isn't of the same scale, by any means. It's damaging, but not destroying.
